Can you dropped an equipped item when killed by a mob?

I've been receiving mixed answers from this question. If you die from a monster, can your equipped items drop?

There are mixed rumors on this topic. The only thing I know is true is that your equipped weapon will never drop. However, I think any other stuff can be dropped if a mob that's higher level than you kills you.

No, you can't drop an equipped WEAPON, and yes, you can drop equipped armor, and other stuff in the inventory.

I have never had any of my equipped items drop when killed by a mob.

I was under the impression that only stuff in inventory had a 5% chance to drop.

Perhaps it's 5% chance that something will drop and it chooses from inventory first?

The only thing you can't drop are sox items or equiped weapons. Everything else can drop. If you die by a mob there is a 5% chance that you drop something.. could be some arrows, could also be your fully pimped +9 chest for example

SoS or not, you can drop it. the only items that never drop are:

• silk items
• equipped weapon

When I was murder I dropped my boots so they can be dropped, don't know if they can be dropped under any other condition, but I believe it's the same for all items.

you can never ever drop sox. ppl saying they lost their sox during murder or something are talking out of their ass

I'm gonna test it. Equip sos shield and some sos gear, later a normal shield and normal gear, I'll also try to have a sos in the inventory. So we'll see if it drops or not.

Hope you post back soon with the results.. I was under the assumption that only things in your inventory could drop, cause I've never had any armor on me drop (sans murder ofcourse) also if you could.. try orange mobs then white mobs, I heard a long time ago that you can drop things in your inventory from orange but not white.. want come confirmation so I can start bringing my good harp to grind with so when I need to play bard I can attack ><

its rarer that a death from a higher mob will lead to you dropping anything. most often, the dropped items are some horses, or a trader item.
been in the yacha a few days now, our bard died a few times, both times he dropped items, he dropped his huntercape. never his L60 staff :p

I think DJ proved that you can't drop SoX. He and Sach made ALOT of botters murder in Xian (talking about murder status I know) And they never dropped SoX, even though some of them had several sun parts etc.

Maybe you cant drop equipped sox parts, but a friend of mine once killed a murderer and that gave him a pretty nice sos suit, at least he told so. He could've been lying but i guess not.
