no you just can kill them faster usally makes drops drop quicker

hmmm... i could 1 shot both white mobs and green mobs on my nuker at 70 cap and i got more drops on green mobs. same thing at 80 cap with my bower, i killed white/green just as fast, but green mobs got me more elixir/tabs/drops by far. dunno if they changed it, but green mobs do drop stuff more often..

Green Mobs give more drops in general at the cost of less exp per mob.
