that forum used to be one of the main forums during the 60 70 and 80 caps.

Im just curious how this forum is still up and going and that one isnt. IM guessing it has to do with the mods being active and whatnot =\

EDIT: that forum had 42k users, this one has 24k users.

It died, the mods are/were busy with other projects, it's full of unbanned botters. DarkJackal was banned 28 times for pissing off the mods on purpose lol

I think there was a similar topic like this one around.

But yeah, that's pretty much it. All the topics there are full of yucky anyway..

Yeah back when SRO came out nearly everyone was on SRT as time went on, and bots became popular most of the people on their quit or moved onto other forums like here SRF.

interesting, i miss those forums =\ lol i was an actual member of the community there here i feel like a noob because of the cruddy post count =p

Post count doesn`t really matter. What matter is your post all about. Sometimes, a guy with less then 100 posts, can post better stuff within those 100 posts than a guy who posted over 1000 posts and none of them were good.

Management is the key

although i do agree, i actually felt like a member of the community. here, well... i feel like a noob to these forums because i was a long-time reader but i never really posted.

Anyways...

ive been playing since the 60 cap... and in the 80 cap i told myself i'd quit if the 90 cap came out.... lolz

Silkroad Tavern helped me post some unique kills / thieving fun was an enjoyable forum and i hope this forum is the same although i have noticed alot more hostility =\

Never liked that forum. Just didn't feel right to me :/

The choice for me came down to a few things as to which forum I would use. First I knew the original SRF forum admin in game. Not gonna claim to be best buds etc but we spoke on several occasions and he even helped a friend and myself on several trades which was noteable because iirc he liked thieving much more. LOL

Second even back at the 60 and 70 cap there were known botters and most of them called SRT home. It among other things gave SRT a vibe I did not like. Don't get me wrong SRF did/does/will have botters. But they have always done more even when it was don't ask don't tell.

Finally SRF always looked better. More professional.


I think it is point number 2 that allowed SRF to outlast SRT. You can go almost anywhere that discusses SRO and find info on loaders and bots. But for those that wanted the game but did not want to cheat SRF was the place. Still is. But even now as joymax throws up one bot infested server after another the system is straining under the weight of all that dead wood even as it dies. SRF has slowed but not died. I think SRF will continue on well after the SR in SRF has lost significance.

I've never been really familiar with SRT, but this last point you made is a real good one.
Clearly noticable, SRF has a big part of the community who doesnt even play sro anymore, therefore SRF really dieing out doesn't seem to be happening anywhere in the (nearer) future.

Starrie how long have you been playing tibet for?

I'm new but I think it's all the otl people that keep this one alive...they all seem buddy buddy, but not particularly inviting to new people.

SRT was awesome. Everyone was an asshole and didn't help newbies

But I do remember years ago people said SRT was dying and everyone was moving to SRF, which is when I signed up here.

You shouldn't do, people who are smart enough and have higher IQ than average temperature look past the amount of posts and take care of the content instead of the number which appaers below the avatar.

Srt use to be cool, but wren was a complete ass of a mod lol, eraserhead was a bit too but not as bad.

Ppl got banned then came here, this place grew moar.


I got banned the first time for saying how I thought wren seemed kinda power hungry cus he banned ppl for such stupid things which I don't even remember what, but I didn't say anything insulting, just simply that.

Then i'd just make acc anytime I saw someone post something I felt like replying too, even though the entire time I had another acc which is still there unbanned I posted on lol.


Not to say Srt was ever really better, it's just like the first forum for Sro, I even found out about Sro from it.

SRT was nice back when we didn't know how to play SRO and we actually helped each other. It became a shit hole where everybody flamed and trolled each other all day long, kinda like SRF is now. I honestly don't remember when or how I came over to SRF, but I think it had to do with SG.

Well, in the beginning i was still VERY noob. I just played the game but didn't visit any forums etc. I think ive been lurking here since mid 2007.

lol same. I just made random hybrids back then (didn't even know about pure builds lol). I quit the game and came back around September 2007, visited these forums a lot but only registed late last year.
