Hello fellow players of SilkRoad.
I'm Elari aka. Cefey (IGN).
I haven't played Silkroad for a long long time.
I played around 6months before the european version came out.
Now that i'm bored of games such as World of Warcraft & RuneScape, i'm back to play SilkRoad and start a new adventure.
I wasn't quite skilled back when i played, i created a pure str glavier, and used up all my sp on skills once i had the chance, at level 30 i felt weak, so i quit the game =/
________
Now i returned to the world of SilkRoad, i just created a character in Titan, which is also a pure str glavie ( i love them<3 )
But to become really good i found out that i had to SP farm, which i obviously will..
I decided to play normally, get skills, but still keep a level 5 cap while playing ? ( is that a good idea? )
But my main question is how i should build up my character ?
My question is split into two parts:
1) I know that my total mastery can be 300, and after reading a bunch of Pure Str glavie guides, i found out that i'll go for either: [100hex/100fire/100light] OR [100hex/100fire/80light/20 ice]
I'm not really into defence, more into high hits / 1hit K.0's.
Neither do i like grinding, but i will most likely spend hours and hours on grinding until i finally can PvP, so tell me which of these two builds i should choose ?
2) SKILLS, this might be my main concern about SilkRoad, i WILL keep reading guides to find out what skills i should and shouldn't get, but the skill system seems a little confusing to me O_o
Well, i found out the Heksual has a total of 34 books, at first i thought that if i get 1 book it'll cost me 1 mastery skill ( out of 300 ) .. but that makes no sense =s
There's also a possibilty to level up a certain skill, to recieve another one, and that's the confusing part..
Let's take Heksual for example, and if i choose to Max out ALL of the books/skills to their max level, then how much mastery skill will that cost me ( out of the total 300 ) ?
Well, you might have understood what i do and don't understand about the mastery skill total "system", but please explain it to me in a simple way, because alot of people claim that i'm quite stupid and find complicated things hard to understand =s
________
I'll be online for the next 3-5 hours reading every reply, while i play on meh n00b character ^^

Introduction & Question.

Ah, IRC, where men are men, women are men, and 14-year old girls are FBI agents.
Re: Introduction & Question.
hi , and welcome back to the SRO world ^^
yes if u can be patient , because gapping will make u lvl up slower , and because u are pure str , u will end up lvling veeery slow , so my advice is that u either farm at low lvls or at high lvls with 9 gap ..
why ? , because if u farm at lowwer lvls the amount of sp u need till lvl 100( ong farming or the old fashioned way , killing bandits ) u wont be farming again until the lvl cap is raised , but if u decide to farm at later lvls , like +90 , u should keep a 1-2 gap , that wont decrease the the leveling speed alot and u will gain more sp ...but why should u sp farm at higher lvls ??? because as i can see u dont have a high lvl char , so leveling up first and then farming will introduce u more to the game , and u might not like the glaive build later on , so u could easily make a new char and farm it at ongs ...
thats what i did on my first char , i lvled it up to the cap ( it was 80 cap ) and then while i was a high lvl i managed to get some money by plvling and trading , that way i was able to purchase a nice lvl 72+9 sword and started farming with a 9 gap , using a skill exp ticket , it was kinda boring , but i was always in a pt , killin and chilline ( its always fun chatting while killing) , and then i made a new char ( my current one ) , farmed it at ongs ( took me about 4 months ) , and now im lvling without having to worry about the sp....
but if u choose to lvl up from lvl 30 to a high lvl with a gap5 , believe me it will take looong time and its way boring ...
100hex/100fire/80light/20cold is fine
but if u like 1hit K.O. , umm , there is no chinese build that could 1 hit another chinese ( at higher lvls + 85 ) , maybe with berserk , anyways , u should make an european char , because in euro pvp , ull see lots of 1 hit K.O.
34 books , 1 mastery ....blah blah blah....
ill explain
every chinese build has total of 300 mastery skills he can have , what is the mastery skill , the mastery skill is for example : heuksal , bicheon , pacheon , fire , cold .....
so for example if i had : 70 bicheon , 60 fire , 40 light
that means i used 70+60+40 = 170 mastery skills out of 300
170/300 , so i have 130 left , if i raise a skill , for example the fire imbue in the FIRE mastery , that imbue skill wont take anything form the 300 mastery skill , u can have all the skills ( if u had enough sp ) , and still the 170/300 wont raise ...
i dont know if u understood it , but if u didnt i can explain better
hope i helped
P.S. i dont know what skills u have to get for the heuksal/fire/light/cold build , u could search somewhere , or hopefully someone else will answer that
cheers
