Alchemy clarification question

Noob here, playing about 2 weeks.. read the alchemy guides and they help, but having some more questions.. I just made my first Alchemy stone enhancement, Level 3 Strength to a Level 3 armor item.
I thought I needed a lucky powder, but there was no slots to put the powder in.. is this only for elixirs? If so, I assume there's no real way to destroy my item until at least 5th degree items? Do those spells - immortal, steady, etc do anything for items lower than 5th degree?
It took two tries, my first stone fizzled and didn't do anything. The 2nd applied a +3 strength to my item. Was this a pure coincidence that I got a +3 strength (could have been Strength +1, +2, etc) to a Level 3 item? If I get a Strength +1, what would I do to increase it to say, +3 or more?

Yep ^^ only for plussing items with elixers If so, I assume there's no real way to destroy my item until at least 5th degree items?
You can destroy a weapon if you go over +5 without immortal Do those spells - immortal, steady, etc do anything for items lower than 5th degree?
immortal makes sure your wep doesnt break, steaddy makes sure your wep doesnt lose durability (both when going over +5) astral is for preventing your wep to go under +4 (when it allreaddy is +4 or higher) , but you can only get it in item mallIt took two tries, my first stone fizzled and didn't do anything. You use more stones
you can get a fail or str 1/2/3 (4/5/6 later) with any stone you use, so if you get str 1, and you want more, you'll have to use more stones
Good luck with alchemy and sro ^__^

according to joymax successs is termed in stone working
an example for higher lvl str stone
say the highest lvl str you can add is 5 (cant remember what degree)
your first stone fails, 2nd adds str3 (sucess) but you want the 5
3rd stone joymax sucess you get str 1
4th stone joymax sucess you get str 1 - 1 (same str again)
the good thing about adding the blues is they never go back to 0
the bad thing is the more you try the more chance of assimulation taking place on your stats, but sometimes assimulation results in better stats, and sometimes (rare) assimulation will change a blue stat or even add one different that you didnt have before (at least it used to do this, not sure if it still does)

Lucky powders work with elixirs but not with stones.
The most sure way to level up an item is to have steady and luck on it and after level 4 astral and immortal. After every improvement you should check that list because some blues are used during the alchemy process. An alchemy process succeeds sometimes but by using one of the marks.
