[PK2] Adding Glow

Post by RuYi »

  • Can I add a glow to an item without any +?
  • If I replaced a 1D blade with a 10D, and I want to change the glow, which line of the itemoption.exe do I need?

I'm completely lost here, any help on this would be greatly appreciated as long as I'm able to understand it.
Don't link me to any of the guides because I don't understand them, unless you link me to PK2 Editing for Dummies.

wow... i coulda swore u pk2 edited ages ago.

ok to answer those questions.

no u cant add a glow if you dont have a glow already.... BUT! if you have a glow on shield you can transfer it to a blade/sword.

and what i suggest if you want to change the glow to +9 glow..... say your glow is +5?

open the itemoption.txt in notepad (or whatever it is... i forget) and change 1 2 3 AND 4 's +5 glow to +9 then you cant make a error.

however it depends what type of glow you want. this gets complicated bare with me.

i have a lvl 52 sword and want a 64 blade

i want a +5 and i have a +5.

so you need to change the code to a 64 blade using extract/inject and change the headers around

the headers are the bits such as CH_BLADE_08_C or whatever it is for the weapon you want and your weapon.

then you look for BOTH the number that corresponds to the glow. say by chance its "2" change 2. if they are different, say "2" and "3"
then change the one which is the BLADES glow.

ok.... now if you wanted the swords glow look still... dont change the headers and just change the glow of your origional weapon.

sorry its very hard to explain that there are 4 types of glow.

Thank you for your help, it's much appreciated! I'll definitely try this tomorrow.
I did PK2 edit before, but that was real easy, just the armor and the mounts.

Thanks again! :)

yea this is a good guide. but follow it as a informal guide, dont strictly follow everything hes doing. you need to add your weapon in there rather then his xD

and yes i have had pm's of people telling me it doesnt work cuz they did EXACLTY what the guide says

I know this post is old, but I just have to point this out:
You CAN'T add a + glow without any + but you CAN with +1, all you have to do is go to itemtypenumber and change the desired glow number (3,5,7 or 9) into 1, tadaaaa, you got a glow. :)
Venture.
