Do I need guilds in my union in order to activate a union?

At what level can I activate a union emblem, 4 or 5?

You need to be level 4 in order to start your own union. To start you need at least one other guild to join you. At level 5, you will be able to create a union emblem. When you save your guildmark.bmp or unionmark.bmp emblem, it needs to be 16x16 and 24 bit. It won't let you do it if it is not in the right format, so you won't lose money for saving it wrong.

Damn! I thought union emblem was level 4. Ah well.

just a slight correction

you can make a union with another guild at lvl 2, you dont have to be lvl 4
you get the ability to add the union emblem at 5
guild emblem at 4
as far as being able to get the emblem without another guild with you in a union i dont know, but knowing JM i would say you need at least another guild, (just a theory)

You can buy special scrolls for the union emblem at the guild manager before your guild is level 5 but you can't use the scroll before you have achieved level 5 guild.

I never tried it out without union, but my guess is that it works.
