Fanning spear does what!!

What exactly does the 2nd book of fanning spear do? Blocks attacks?

Does it say "block"?

And yes I searched.

yea it does...you can block an attack like a shield

though i rarely see any high lvls with that skill maxed

it block only pure mag attacks, imbued weapon skill will go through and that's what makes this skill kinda useless

the third book is nice, since it blocks over 50%(?, or 40) of mag damage

but its sorta underused and not many ppl use it
i pretty much said the same thing twice

Ok so now that we know what it does

when would it be more beneficial to use it.

Perhaps against a warlock where the damage is more spread out?

I know wizards hit crazy hard. If they have a SOS+5 weapon would books 1 and 2 stop you from getting 1 hit? Or Would praying for a block be more effective?

I prefer the Defence increase cuz then your SURE it will go down. Else you have to wait for a block.. Thats just shit

yep...book 2 and 4 of the fanning series has a block rate % chance...

I had it with some glaive...he used it and blocked my nuke...I was like wtf

anyway...I rather have mag def higher for 15 secs than a few % chance of a block for 15 secs =/

But here is the question. If you are lets say lvl 64 pure str glavie in garms with str and int on everything. And you see a wizard your level with a:

+5 rod
SOS rod
sos+5 rod

Are you going to be able to tank 1 hit from any of those weapons? Will the magic increase buff keep you alive long enough to kill them, or will you have to rely on the block % to keep you alive to kill them.

I haven't watched any wizard video but i have heard that they do more damage then rogues, and rogues kill awfully fast.
