How is a bard useful?

I heard that bards are used to heal MP, but when i look at the healing MP skill, the bard uses 496 MP to heal 496 MP for someone else. In that case then why dont that other person just use their own pots . That also means the bard runs out of MP really quickly.
EDIT 3: is tuning noise spammable? :O i think it is the reason why bards dont lose MP >_>

Bards can heal there own mp and they have the most mp out of all classes
because of there harp gives them around like 400 plus mp wearing it on a low lvl that is

that skill is very good yes and it heals 496 like every second lol
trust me one pot from someone else can't out beat a bard at healing mp
