Euro-Armours - what exactly is the difference?

Post by KP »

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the game, created a euro char few days ago and now trying to learn the ropes and mechanics behind it all.

So far, most of the questions got answered just by reading the forums here and there, but there is one thing that I don't get. What exactly is the difference between the 3 armor types for euro chars?

I tried searching the forums (haven't found any topic that would give a good answer) or asking people ingame (the answers were more confusing than helpful). Some said that heavy armor slows you down (no idea, haven't tried that out yet). Some said that armor type affects mana usage (might be true for chinese chars, can't confirm for euro though). According to the official site, the only difference there is would be the mag/phys defense (heavy has more phys, robes have more mag).

So.. I'm a bit lost here. If the official site is right and there is nothing more to it, it should be best for pure int chars to level up Warrior mastery (doesn't cost that much SP, you don't need the skills themselves) and wear heavy all the time since their high int already gives them enough mag. defense (or so I was told. any truth to that?).
And if there is more to it, please tell me!

Sorry if this question was already asked. I tried searching, but didn't find anything useful. Just post the link to that thread in that case then please.

Thanks!
Rogue (a.k.a. thief) - a stealthy character class commonly used in RPGs

Rouge - a cosmetic used to color the cheeks and emphasize the cheekbones

..enough said..

I once theorized this idea as well. Putting masteries for the sake of armor. I think that some skills will not work if you're not wearing the appropriate armor. I could be wrong.

About your signature, a rogue≠thief.

As for your question, it's the same as Chinese armour/prot/garms.
