I know that swords have much better magic attack, but the corresponding blades of equal levels dont seem to have much more physical attack that the swords. I have been using the swords, even though I started out as a blader. Is this because I am low level 14 and the difference becomes more dramatic later on? Also can a player who started out with a blade switch to a sword without any penalty other than the stats of the weapon? That is to ask: is there any built in design of a player who starts out with a particlar weapon to want to keep using that weapon?
Thanks!
blade vs sword....why would anyone pick a blade?

You can switch anytime without any penalty. With my former character (pure str blader), I remember using a sword once because of the crit 14. But it's also about honing your advantages.
Pure str (or at least str heavy) builds have high physical attacks. So they generally prefer a blade or glaive for the physical attack and physical reinforce. Same is true with pure ints regarding magical attack and reinforce. The difference is noticeable at higher levels.

The difference between a good and a bad day is your attitude. If you're having a bad day, well, tough luck ^ ^

The differences in the Physical ATK in the later levels, become VERY significant, between a Sword and a Blade.
For example...
A plain, Level 72 Devil Sword has a Physical ATK of 588-708.
A plain, Level 72 Blade Blade has a Physical ATK of 626-728.
It makes even more of a difference if you have an SoS, SoM, or SoSun.

Thanks!
Thanks for the clarification, I figured it is more important later. For now im mainly a bow user for mobs anyway. Speaking of that, anyone who would lend me a lvl 16basemodel for a month I would + it before I gave it back.

Thanks for your help...
Fena, Thanks for the offer, I been selling 1D and 2D gems and picking up all the gold I can find. I got around 800k in cash and another million worth of gems to sell, so I am fine. I am going to build up about 5 mil to buy a SOx lvl 16 basemodel and supe it up for farming. What I DO need is someone who can assist me with res at a remote location to delevel me in about 3 weeks time. Anyone on athens who wants to see me die about 100 times, let me know!
