A blue mob is more then 5 levels lower then you I think. A green mob is 3 levels lower (or more then you).
A white mob is around your level.
An orange mob is a bit above your level, and a red mob is alot above your level.

To be more specific...

Blue mobs are 7+ lvls lower than you
Green mobs are 4-6 lvls lower than you
White mobs are At or 1-3 lvls lower than you
Orange mobs are 1-4 levels higher than you
Red mobs are 5+ lvls higher than you

Pretty much the mobs you want to grind on are green white and orange depending on your equipment. Blue mobs give very little exp and red mobs will most likely take too long to kill to be effective for grinding.

I was a bit confused with the actual level ranges.
STR builds should generally grind on white/green mobs, unless they have great gear.
It's always better to grind green/white mobs, for the extra number drops. Grinding white/green also saves pots.
For example, a level 74 would get little drops from mages/shamans, but would get decent drops grinding soldiers/guards.

Not necesarily. The loss of exp can be compensated through a faster rate of killing.

Tink in tis way, if u can kill green mobs in 1 shot and white mobs in 2 shots... thn i wuld prefer for 1 shot mob
WHY :?
1) more killin
2) more XP
3) more gold
4) more chances of drops

Hope this clears up :D
Cheers,
