Weapon Question

Okay, what i don't understand is when you create a new character and you pick from the available weapons it tells you that some have higher magical damage and some have higher physical damage than its counter part. Although when you actually play the game the magical damage on every single weapon is always higher, it doesn't make any sense. Like the Glaive i have is 117 - 144 Physical but the Magical is 155-203 or something along those lines. I just feel i dont do enough damage physically with melee weapons. I'm completely str but i dont even really see a damage increase when i level. So my question is why is the information false or why am i completely retarded for thinking that it is? lol.

a spear magical damage is still higher than a glavie magical damage. the damage is comparing between different weapons, not the same weapon. well, if you use imbue w/ physical atks, you're doing both phys. and magical atks. the difference in one lvl is small, unless your skills increased, then you should see a bigger difference.
