Well there is no more trader job so I don't think that would apply. It's just hunter vs thief now, no idea how the hunter part works.

how do you level up your job either on hunter or theif?
do you just have to kill each other then you start leveling?

From what I've heard/seen, you do the job activites option to level your job level.

Your rank = Exp from killing others. It took me till lvl 11 hunter to get rank 10 in job on my warrior. However 1 kill on my thief, which was a rogue 12 levels higher, and i was rank 10.

Ok heres my 2 cents on this.
So far what I have experienced and read online is that there are two parts of the new trading system.
Consignment Trading, and Target Trading.
Target trading is done through a specific transport item, or at lv 71 job when you can do it your self.
Consignment Trading is a npc-run trade that is based on the amount of donations of the Specialty Goods Boxes in a specific city.
Supposedly Smuggler Caravans and Trader Caravans (all NPC runned) leave each town towards Hotan. In this time frame, thiefs and hunters can fight for control of the specialty goods boxes being carried in the caravans. After every round of this, you can go collect as a reward from donating the boxes, a specific amount of blue stones if your hunter, black stones if your a thief. You need these to craft Shining Stones. Shining Stones you need to craft a bunch of sh1t in the job equipments xD.

Now there is ranking based on thief vs hunter kills, and im not sure if dying lowers it... will need someone to confirm.
Also quests can be done with the job suit at Constantinople at the Trader NPC or the Smuggler NPC. With these quests, you get job exp which levels your job lvl up.
