Loosing +'s from using stones. Happen to anyone?

A guildy tried to put block on his 64+3 glaive. Not only did his crit change from 9 to 2 but it went from +3 to +1. He did say he experienced lag at the time but AFAIK using stones should not change +'s. Has anybody else experienced this?

no, stones shall not change + enhancements.

Sorry, he did not take SS due to his frustration. He assures me it happened, infact we were on TeamSpeak when it happened and he wasnt a happy chap.
