What are the reasons for joining a guild?
What are the reasons for joining a guild?
What are the reasons for me to be in a guild? I am doing PvE (grinding monsters). TIA

Re: What are the reasons for joining a guild?
the guild is a gathering place of players
think of it as an expanded friend list
with the guild chat you can talk to someone while grinding without having to click on the name of someone to chat to
the guild also provides people you can get together and party with, set up job runs, offer to sell, give or trade items with
if you want to run a guild it offers another item you can do to with your SRO time

Pretty much wat Ray just said. I honestly couldn't imagine playing w/o being in a guild. Just plain boring
Wish the best for raphaell666

Re: What are the reasons for joining a guild?
in my opinion joining a guild is useless while grinding. when ur level 90 it gets really fun if you are in a good guilld cuz u can do guild wars, job wars in guild (which is really amazing) and you can do fortress war if you have an awesome guild. apart from that, i think being in a guild is useless

do you know why?
because they dont want lazy people in thier guild
people that only want to be plvl'd dont know how to play thier char
they dont contribute to the guild community
and they annoy everyone with thier constant begging for plvl
now look at it from the guild master view
say you have 25 members in your guild (24 besides yourself)
say you plvl each member for half an hour 24 x 30minutes = 12 hours
work or school 8 hours eat shower 1 hour
that leaves you 3 hours to sleep
and when would you do your own leveling or playing for fun
now to change the subject
there are some guilds that are bot guilds and have players that are botting constantly and dont mind tailing around noob people all day
and there are some guilds that do offer plvl on a limited schedule
so when choosing a guild find one that fits you, and what you would like
Also there are guilds that are job similar, for instance guilds that are thiefs, merchants or hunters, this make it easier to organize job events together

For a community.
The same reason as you would want to make friends in real life.. you dont need to but it makes everything a whole lot nicer.

Well, duh
I've seen guilds that just schedule a powerlevel at ongs or something...then someone else plvls at snipers, or bunwangs, or whatever. Later on they burn their premium.
Parties are still a great alternative to a plvl. As Missle2 pointed out, if you are plvled all the way you won't be aware of the ins and outs of your char.
If faith is a crutch, I'm not limping anymore.

I have seen a guy asking me for taxi on level 21 on megalopas and crabs. he did not use HP nor MP pills, he knew nothing. The only thing he knew was to shoot spells (wizard) till his mana drained and then sat down to renew. Otherwise he was pretty clueless and asked me about million times for a party when i left. he has left me as a warrior a couple of time to fight MPs and got killed of course, i wasnt able to taunt the mobs when he ran away from me. I was wondering how he managed to become such a high level.

To make friends? Shit, ive met some mad people by joining different guilds. When u have a fun and active guild, grinding will be more enjoyable trust me.
