Level 20
Hello People,
As some may know i am a noob at silkroad, However i am learning fast got home 4PM got off 2AM this morning, You see its getting addictive, Leveling quite fast 20 in two days not bad,
Howevre reaching the LVL20 Stage i am a bit stuck on weather to choose Hunter or Thief, I am unsure what either of these involve.
From what i have seen in game
Thiefs can kill normal players *Please correct me if i am incorrect*
Hunters Dunno.
So if somebody could exsplain what either of these do that would be great.
Also @ where i choose this.

Re: Level 20
It would be best if you go "Trader"
This is the job roles (In a nut shell):
Trader trades goods from city to city.
Thief tries to steal the goods from the trader.
Hunter protects trader from thieves.
Now, trader would be the best idea because;
1. You can get money fast
2. You can gain 1* protection until you are level 40 which means thieves can't attack you.
If you go Hunter you will have all those lvl 90 Thieves on you like salt on a peanut
If you go Thief ou will have all those lvl 90 Hunters like salt on a peanut
Hope this helped :s

Re: Level 20
Hello, I hope you are enjoying the game. It gets very addicting. I will do my best to help you.
Here is a map of Jangan, please view it http://images.mmosite.com/sro/images/database/npc/jangan.jpg At #28 you can go to the thief town to become a Thief.
In Constantinople [sorry no map], by the Harbor Building you can also teleport to the thief town.
Talk to one of the NPCs there to do it. You will need to create an alias for your job, and pay him 10k or 100k(?) gold, forgot. And then buy a thief suit which cost 10k gold. You must leave all party before you put on your suit. And then after you can only join thief parties.
Thieves cannot attack normal players, they can only attack Merchants and Hunters.
For joining Hunters, you can go to any town, and join the hunter guild at the "Hunter Association," marked on your in game map. Press M to open your map.
For joining merchants guild, you can go to any town, and join them at the "Specialty Shop" marked on your in game map.
***To force attack another player HOLD the ALT KEY and double click on the person you wish to attack. However, there are harsh penalties for this, and doing so is ill-advised. The penalty consist of becoming a "Murderer" which makes your name turn pink/red and anyone is allowed to attack you without consequence. Furthermore, if you happen to die under pink/red name, the probability of losing a worn item, or item in inventory is very high. You will also lose a considerable amount of SP and EXP. You will not be able to stall in any town; and your life drains constantly by 10%(?) while in town. There are two ways to be rid of Murder status. 1) Die by player or by monster; you may need to die multiple times depending on the degree of your murder status. 2) Kill monsters, Monsters in your level range will take off anywhere from 1-7 murder points. When you reach 0 points, you are no longer a murderer.
The above post also contain accurate information. Which is why I left it out in my post. If you have further questions, feel free to ask.

Re: Level 20
Money right now isnt a problem i have 400k, No i am not a botter my friend who is lvl 70 i asked him for 3k and he gave me 400K earlier that day some random guy came upto me and gave me 5k free,
So money is no problem right now also im getting between 10-30k aday anyway from just killing lowe level things quick 100gold drop each time 10 drops = 1k dosent take long to make money.
So with just over 400k Everything is good.
I am currently lvl 17 20% through im going to do some lvling up after i eat some tea.

Re: Level 20
I'd recommend going with Trader. As a thief or hunter you won't be able to do anything till your high level, and you'll just get sick of dieing all the time.

Sure, but it takes a week when you drop from the hunter/trader/merchant guild before you're allowed to join another job guild.
Don't go hunter/thief at low levels. All the 80+ thieves/hunters will just one-shot you and laugh.
If faith is a crutch, I'm not limping anymore.

Wow...I'm a newb/noob
,
Reading things like this in this forum is great. So there's even more in this game than killing monsters.
There's still a lot to learn for me in SRO

Re: Level 20
welcome new players and new forum members
the easiest is the trader at lower lvls
you can do the run if you stay on your mount feeding it pots till you get past the higher lvl mobs
it will take a lot of pots though
remember the trading mount is slow
remember to make your trade a one star, do not go over into 2 *
at 2* all thiefs can attack you at any lvl

Re: Level 20
This is my personal recommendation..
Level 20-40: Trader
Level 41-72: Nothing
Level 73-90: Your personal preference.
It's simply impossible to be successful at jobbing.
Well not impossible but very hard. It will be a rare
occasion when you get to own someone at lvl 4X-6X.
