Jewelry Absorption Rate

Post by sparta_sword »

As many know 4 jewelry > 6 gear

so that makes jewelry very important, but what I was wondering is..

Does anyone know how much damage each point actually absorbs?

like you got a necklace or something with phy 23.5 mag 23.5

how much damage does that actually absorb? whats the conversion formula?

The numbers are %.
So if you get hurt by 100 damage, and you have a necklace of 20%, you will only recieve 80 damage.

Atleast they told me this way

Is there any further wisdom on this topic?
Anyone can explain precisely the relevance/importance of phys/mag abs %?

Of course I understand that the ability of an acc to absorb damage is important, but to what degree?

My curiosity was piqued yesterday by browsing the stall network:

2 pieces of jewelry on sale:
75+0 ring, 17% phys
80+5 ring, 19% phys

[my figures may be slightly wrong, but there was only 2% difference between them]

Both had similar (%)
First was priced at a few hundred thou, second was 15m

I just wonder if that 2% is worth the extra expense to a purchaser or to the upgrader who uses god knows how many elixirs to get to +5

Is that % abs important enough that I should be aiming for acc's of same degree as my other equipment (this is on my lvl 5x blader)?
Am I wrong to keep using acc's 2 or 3 ( ) degrees lower because they have decent blues? [The only pvp I do is CTF, so far, and wiz's trash me unless I get to them first..... ]

the percentages don't make a bug difference, about 20% =.1 difference in the stat

so if you have a lv 76 ring with (i dont know the exact numbers im at work) 15 phy absorbtion and 15 mag absorption and the 85 ring has 20 phy absorption and mag 20 absorption then of course the higher level one is better. That should be common sense that anything higher level is better than soemthing lower level, putting +'s aside.

now what bloodyblade was saying makes a little sense but still doesnt say much.

hes saying the the stat point on the ring if it be 20 is a % so that ring itself absorbs 20% of the damage you take. he was not talking about the actual %'s on it.

so if you have 2 rings that give 20 absorb, an earring that gives 23 and a necklace that gives 25, that would be 93% absorbtion, that is in my opinion way to high for this theory to be true bloodyblade, even thoguh it does make sense, but it doesnt, cause after that then you factor in your armor, then you wouldnt be taking any damage at all.. so the conversion is something else
