If my item is (immortal), how do I + it?

immortal doesn't effect anything until after +5
If you get an item to +5, and try to go higher you have a chance of destroying item; the item will be completely gone. Immortal helps the item not to be destroyed.

I would suggest waving your mouse around that sentence (I like alchemy) there may be a link to an alchemy guide hidden there (click the period in "I like alchemy")
