Series of Questions

Post by BloodOwnzzz »

Although I am pretty smart myself I like to bounce my plans off of other people before I do them. If you have read some of my posts lately they have all hinted I am trying to start to play SRO again, which is true...

I have narrowed my choice of build down to 3 possibilities. One being a Rogue/Bard, XBow Only. Another being Full Str Glaiver, 90 Glaive 90 Fire 80 Light 20 Cold. And the last being Warrior/Bard, All Party Skills + 2H + Shield Trash(I'll go into this later). What are your thoughts on these builds?

If I was to choose Glaiver how is leveling for it, time wise? I figure I can do a 0/2 gap all the way to 90 with it depending on how much I spend on Silk. How would a 0 gap be? 2 gap?

Do you think the ability to use invisiblity .pk2 is to overpowering to use strategies that depend heavily on Stealth?

And after a lot of thought... I've figured that all you should really need for tanking is Shield Trash and the other non-weapon realated skills. Do you think it would matter that much as long as I have a Shield, KB and Heavy Armor?
Also is it true you can take 1H passives without leveling 1H Arms?

Thanks in advance...

Crossbow+Bard = One of best best European solo-ers, reasonable-good mp healing and normal dances for party play, or being the fastest lurer, pvping will be mainly with rogue, no real purpose for bard there (beside bind, going out of safezone with tambour, or buffing/mp healing others).
Heuksal+Fire+Light+Cold = Most common build at the cap I presume (*cough* cookiecutter *cough* ) but still a nice build to play, good tanking, good hits.
Warrior+Bard = Nice build to, great heavy hits on the fastest character (assuming you wear garment) and shield trash is great for the opponents attacks that take time to load, ofcourse great for party play, never enough warriors  .

And as I never got a glaiver high I won't do a estimate on how long it will take.

Don't even think about using the pk2 edit...

Your tanking will be fine with 2hand, ofcourse 1hand is better, but you'll still be fine, and the 1hand passives do not stay when switching to 2hand.

hmm if you go rogue i really recomend you get daggers, if you have to fight a warrior or blader, daggers are going to win out way more then cross bow, unless you plan to have to beserk every time you see one. As for the pk2 edit, just get weary of people and learn which guilds are the cheater guilds and stay hide old school style, like in a bush or something, though honestly all those bloody cheaters are ruining the fun of rogue for me some.

What I meant was...

Is the .pk2 edit too popular to rely heavily on strategies involving Stealth, if I was to make a Rogue/Bard

Also, what I meant was are you able to level the passives without leveling the One-Handed Arms passive, the +X% damage one.

Daggers were a possibility once I was at cap but for me I find Daggers to be kinda bad from videos I've seen, of future caps.

And what server should I join? I was thinking about the Warrior if I joined a server I could get some power level or parties in. Rogue or Glaiver in a more independent server.

IMO a good rogue has both weapons.

A glaive won't have enought sp if you grind with a 2 gap (perhaps with sp ticket, but dunnof or sure)..It's possible with 2 gap but I would recommend either 9 or 0 gap.

2hand/bard is nice, but you won't need shield trash because 2hand skills also have kb/kd probability's

I'll look up those passives

Edit: You will have to lvl 1handed arms to get the other passives

The new konpaku skills section shows all you need to level 1 Hand passives is the required level of 1Handed Arms for the first level, for every level.

thought I remember reading that the 1h passives are only active when you have a 1h weapon equipped and if you're going 2h they won't be active when you have 2h sword equipped.

Yes... They are... What I mean is that I will have 2H for PvP and Solo Leveling. But for Party Play, I would have at least Shield Trash and the 1H Passives which dramatically reduces the farming I need to do.

Bump. Decided to go Rogue but don't know which secondary...

Which secondary would be best for an XBow only Rogue. The SP for the skills I would take are close enough to make only a minor difference and I can probably do a 0 gap either way. But, if I was to pick Bard I most likely wouldn't take the Dances/Trambours until I'm capped because then it would be more expensive then Cleric secondary. Also figre when I'm capped I'm going to farm my Trambours/Dances though.

Also, What server should I go to?

For Solo play any server would do, but for party play I recommend Venus and also because of the whole confederation matter, there is a chance you can get payed to do beneficial things for the confederation.
