The topic, A question that does not reflect the aim of the topic, however it has a lot of items to be understood within it, I hope. What I am basically making is a discussion, not a complaint about warlocks, because me myself is a Warlock/Cleric Lvl 80 atm.

First of all, What do I mean by What is there left for a Warlock? Lets start off, and I am sure you will get what I m pointing to when we get through the topic.

1-A normal warlock like me, opens the party matching system daily search ing for a Wings party, and here what he finds:

-Wings Need Wizard/Tank/Cleric/Bard

Wait? Wait? No Warlock Required in Euro Parties?!?! Yes, I understand that, we are considered useless in Euro Paries by the most, either banned when Auto joined or asked to leave.

Lets assume you have a Cleric Sub-class and you want to farm, and you get the skills you only need. Now because you are a WARLOCK, you have to get both warlock skills <---- For you, and ALL Cleric Skills <-- To be accepted in a party as a cleric, not as a Warlock...So basically, there is nothing left for a Warlock in a Euro Party...Thats 1.

Now about the PVP section:

2- A Fully Farmed warlock (Not like me xD) goes to have some Fun in PvP, after being able to get Fully Farmed by Hardwork, and this is how the PvP starts:

Opponent X: Holy Spell!....Recovery Division.....+ Purification Pills.

Now the PvP starts, you find yourself unable to use the following:

1-Debuffs. ( Impotent, Division, Decay,Weaken )
2-Bad status effects. ( Bleed, poison, Dull, Burnt )
3- Other statuses. ( Hidden, Short Sight, Panic , Sleep )

Although stun cannot be removed by Holy Spell, but guess what!!!

You have just wasted tons of SP's trying to get those skills, and then you figure out that you cant make use of your MOST IMPORTANT SKILLS!
How sad is this? Most of your important techniques are stopped by just 1 Skill....The Holy Spell. So basically now, your just a Really Weak Wizard + Stun, and thats really sad.

Even if you say that you can win against bards sub-classes, here's my deal:

1- Pills can do the Job...Although there is a way to trick them for the delay if you know how.
2- Not many people have bard subclass, and so, you are only able to defeat bards only?

So now as said your a weak Wizard with stun, and you cant do anything against Full STR Builds...

Part3 : Plus you arent able to Powerlevel any new chars!!! or Make taxis to gain money, although its a quick way!! Thats sad, unlike Wizards/Nukers.

Well what majin is implying is that, wiz is a better sub for "speed up killing" and warrior/tank a better sub for "keeping the flow of mobs" these two subs are better reconised for doing these things...

OT: rumours have it that warlock debuffs are going to surpass the level of holyspell in 100cap..

I always like to have a warlock on my party... Party mobs (gen, champ, gig) lose their HP so fast...

To begin with, you shouldnt threat about Warlocks becoming useless due to 1 skill anymore, I am not 100% sure about this, but I have been on KSRO and noticed that their Holy Spell/Word only prevents bad statuses at 50% chance. This means that someone without Holy Spell/Word will no longer go from vulnerable to invincible in a split second, only Clerics with the corressponding Passives and or Dual Axe warriors will truely be immune. I could be wrong though, (I personally hope im not )

As for a Warlock in party grinding, they are possibly one of the best ingridients to a party, can replace a Wizard quite honestly, the acquisition of Zerk Orbs is increased for everyone in the party, just by a Warlock casting DoT's on monsters, along with debuffs, a Warlock is one of the best substitues to a Wizard imo, not only that but they are less reliant on Warrior buffs than that of Wizards.

So expect Warlocks to become even more potent in later patches and installments , although I am not completely sure of what I first stated, its what I found when I looked at people on KSRO with Holy Spell/Word. Hope this helps

Bleed, stun, and wheelbind? (the 5 second added to pot skill)go through holy spell. The warlock nukes are weaker but a opponent can't do anything when they're back to back stunned the entire time.

Most people are stupid and don't realize that a (good) warlock added to the party is like having 3-4 more wizards. I would prefer a warlock over another wiz any day. (This is from a wizards point of view) I notice that the zerk gauge is constantly refilled so insanely fast killing speed, party giants are laughable lasting about 1 minute compared to 2-4 without all the debuffs, and a lock that debuffs the majority of pt mobs...well they're basically dead in seconds.

Only flaws I see are unique hunting which a lock in the party can be good or bad because when other players show up and you got a lock spamming debuffs still, the debuffs help everyone so prepare to get ksed....Holy spell does ruin a shit load of spells but you can still DoT players and in real wars, people getting ressed in immo//oblation a good lock will jump on their ass cause the cleric will usually not have spell ready or even think to recast so the guy will just die again for another res.

Just don't focus on 1v1 to much, which everyone seems to stick to, and think they're build is shit. Euros need each other to survive and locks are pretty good in group fights IMO.

What's even the recharge on pills? Like 15-20 seconds? While debuffs are 3-6.

Replacements for wizards, are you out of your freaking mind?

Can you think of anything that can replace a monstrous wizard which hits up to 5 mobs with each attack, and deals the highest continuing damage of all?
And so what if you get berserk faster, big F'ing whoop, the clerics can slap for twice their damage now! Hihaaah!
And if a warlock would be without warrior, they'd have to stun and/or sleep to keep themselves safe, thereby instantly locking the mobs in place, diminishing the effect of other area attacks, so it makes the party fail even more.
And so what if they can survive without warrior buffs, let's kick all the warriors out of the party shall we? Finally getting rid of those leechers, rogue's do a way better job at luring.
And then their damage, they have to cast several debuffs before even coming close to what a wizard hits, and they hit that up to a maximum of 3 mobs! Yaawn?
Talking about inefficient!

Have you never partied with a warlock? You'd rather have one more wizard doing 20k nukes over a warlock that makes 2 wizards nuke for 40-60k?

On party champs and giants the debuffs a lock brings to the table are far more superior than having another wizard. There's been situations where 3 wizards have zerked a party giant and it's down to about half or 1/4 while one warlock with 2 wiz will most likely drop it in the full zerk or a couple seconds after.

And having zerk every minute or so is a godsend.

I was talking about seeing warlocks as a fitting replacement for wizard, not about 1 joining the party for debuffs and all.
And I did plenty of parties with a warlock, and I love them when we get another party giant, they however, can not (or can even come close to) replace a wizard.

I think that's what he means though by replacing.....Having 3 wizards or having 2 wizards with a warlock which basically replaces that 1 wiz. Could be mistaken but that's what I got from it. Personally I would take the latter. But most people prefer basic 3 wiz 2 tank 1 cleric 1-2bards.

Yeah uh.. against holy word stun - wheel bind - dots are still in full gear and it's easy to kill a wizard with holy with these few skills. Against a tanker however like a rogue or a warrior its much more difficult but still achievable when you can keep your timing for that stun + Offering.


But yeah I get wings parties as warlock you nab Atleast you got cleric sub to cleric in parties, mashing heals and healing orbit is much easier than to look for the mobs that aren't debuffed yet, only debuff 3 at a time, and deal with the stress of resisting with the constant flows of mobs. But they help and I agree with corrupt,
a warlock in the party is amazing. Party giants and party mobs drop like splitting through wet toilet paper when debuffed.

Hey Berto! For the Offering + Stun part, Most of the people consider you as a noob when you use it, so I didnt mention it...I know that combo ofcourse, but most people refer to it as a nooby combo, thats why I avoid it.

PLus most people dont recognize what warlocks do in a party, maybe because you are popular and have a good rod, but I am not, thus making it a non-guaranteed spot for a warlock :S.

Yeah I guess it's pretty lame. I hate overusing trap + sleep combo aswell. It's so cheap lol. But atleast you got cleric skills to cleric in parties, it's so laid back I just watch videos while clericing =)

ANYTIME. (unless the warlock is nab and dosent have DoTs, weaken or nukes)

Well I cant say that there will be good future for warlocks at higher caps. Currently at kSRO you can get stones that prevent curses from roc as alchemy stones used for accessory. Warlocks should get something rly strong.. By the way in kSRO warlock rods have increased durability.

Most of you saying "Wizard do more damage" have you ever seen a party giant's hp with all the DoTs+debufs? Yes a wizard/rogue is needed but I think warlocks are essential on a party

AFAIK we already have that.

We do have, I had 207 durability on my 42 warlock rod (60% increase blue, I think). Warlocks are one of the most powerful builds in the game. Their power is to underestimated, I've had all European builds so far and I've got currently 1 main, 1 character still in farming and a level 43 warlock (gap 3/4). I believe that at the current state in the game, the best PvP builds are a warrior with cleric or warlock sub-build or a warlock with cleric sub-build. You can say anything else, but these are and will stay my personal favorite and strongest builds.

@topic starter: I wouldn't give up your character, farm it and get it to the cap and you'll own everyone. Even without the skills that Holly Spell "blocks" you're stronger than a wizard could be in a PvP. Wizards and rogues die easily in PvP, from my own experience. I've been hunting, when a 9D wizard came. Guess what happened? I've killed it with sprint assault and a single Maddening. True, if SA didn't stun I might be dead then, or not.

Just continue playing your warlock. They're the most wanted ingredients of a party, as already stated. ^^

Do cleric or Byebye....What If I didnt have Cleric Sub? I m screwed? No wings for me?...

Now for the PvP part, Wizards and rogues arent the only races you Pvp.

Warriors are your most troublesome....Its not the best build, its a fact, we have to face it.

Warlock is the best if you fight tougher enemies.
With division and other debuffs i could hit a nachal pt giant for 50-60k dmg(still in zerk) coz that nachal HAD NO DEFENSE.
Practicaly, warlock is the ultimate buffer (with debuffs)

They wont leave the party , xD, you know why? Because it take almost 1h - 2h to make a WIngs party here on Odin, if unlucky, so they wont just ruin it for a Sucky warlock ( In their opinion ) =P

Warlocks you say?
Well let's see..

PvE/parties:
-As soon as I log ingame and say hi on union chat, I am being spammed for parties, cause they love my debuffs and zerks.
-I can help the cleric when he's in a need for help (Orbit, RD, Holy Spell, Ress, Bless), so the party is safe till he's buffing or doing something.
-Help the tanks when they are being swarmed by pt mobs, giving them scream masks which helps the tanks a LOT.
-I can lure mobs too. (Protect+Phantasma=Tons of mobs)
-I clean our grinding area from bots whether it is a Glavier, Bow or even Warrior, so we grind without being KSed. (INTs are a piece of cake)
...etc.

PvP:
- All builds have 20% probability to win against me.
- FW: While farming PK=25kills | After farming PK=85kills
- Chinese don't stand a chance to be honest.
- No safe zone if you want to PvP with a warlock.

Some people still don't realize the importance and the role of a warlock in a full euro party.
Warlocks are a MUST.
Wizards love me. (Only cause they wanna zerk 24/7 and see their high numbers)

Well on your server, YOU are wanted.

On my server, I am NOT wanted.

Then it depends on servers and the size of the brain of who plays!

So in a Euro party, its "You" or "Me" Who gets in, not a "Warlock"

Its not like they understand what can a warlock does, so thats what happens unfortunately.
