Do you know if they will ever have a character transfer to another server system anytime soon? it would be a great way for joymax to make money i think! Sort of like WoW you can transfer your character for like 30 bucks.. I hope they will do this

That would be lame.

It's because of a strategy Joymax uses in order to make people pay more. Think about why Joymax hasn't introduce such things that would reset your build, mastery or even your name? It's because they believe they wouldn't make as much money having those features opposed to someone just remaking a new character from scratch.

EDIT: The mastery reset silk item doesn't count, for you need OVER 9000!!! to completely rebuild your mastery.

Imagine:

New server, you're low lvl, so you go there so that there's more people of your own level... But wait, you can transfer chars, new servers would be filled with 90s

//Edit: High lvls who like to kill low lvl uniques would even have the chance to kill uniques of ALL other servers, hoorray for unfair'ness

Well what WoW does is restrict anyone from being able to transfer to a new server within 6 months of it's release. If SRO develops the idea of server transfer, this would be ideal or rather common sense.

They would need to make them wait 6-12 months before they can transfer to new servers I also think they should make it that you can take any sox or honor gear and limit gold to 100 mil maybe less

They may have it. In kSRO when accounts were changing from yahoo korea to joymax you could have transfer characters between accounts. Not so sure about servers..

something like this would also geartly impact the silkroad economy, some servers have a ton of suns some dont, and just think if there is for example 2 sosun 9D staff's between all servers, the price on those will jack up to probably 10bill, because people are willing to pay it to get it

gold buyers will have an easier time getting a full sun set, blah blah blah, I think it's all a bad idea

I vote there should never be character transfer to other server

I am in favor of the whole character moving to new account within the same server though

They should make it so you can transfer once every year. You pay 50$ to get transferred, then you cant transfer for a whole year.

Adding to that: To transfer to a server, you must be lower level than the highest level on the server.

I bet thats what all the WoW people said too.. but still it works for them.. why the hell not silkroad?

i would pay silk for an item like this...even if it cost alot of it. It would be a great idea..cuz then i could set up shop on another server and show those bragging bitchez wazzup. LoLz

Because WoW is a completely different game. If you have raiding gear, you can only get as far as the most progressed guild on the server. if you're into PvP, you're in battlegroups anyway. One server doesn't make or break the game like it can do in SRO with Suns.

And they limit transfer anyway. You can't go from a PvE -> PvP server for example. Then there's a 3 month cooldown before you could transfer again.

Then they should regulate that you can transfer but you have to sell everything for gold. so you will be naked and you half to create or buy everything back. Even if you have over a bil and you need more storage make a 2nd char to keep the gold on ext ext. it could work!

You can change your name! Go to the SRO website, login, edit your profile info, and there's a place to change your characters IGN.

If they did that, we'd have high level sun bots transferring to Venus. I like keeping Venus bots at a fairly low level, at least most of them.

I'd love to transfer my blader to Venus from Venice though.

I'm pretty sure that setting just determines which of your IGNs are displayed in the official forums. I think you can only set it to one of the IGNs that exist in your account in-game.

So if your account has characters PR0METHEUS and PR0METHEUS1, you can choose one of those two as your display name in the official forums.

Right. It doesn't actually impact your character's name in the game.
