Is this really effective against gold companies?

Okay I've heard some stories that nightbloom's guild and union do this a lot, spawning npc hunter/thieves that splash damage enough to kill certain level gold farmers. If they killed them enough their weapon and gear would be too high for them? And then they would start dropping their own gear right? How long would it take for the gold farmer owners to run over there and save them?

To Eldorado peeps:

why isn't there many people doing this? (the answer is obvious i know)

Even so, is there anyone in these forums that play on Eldorado bored enough to do something similar?

not sure they'll drop it :s but bots do strange things, stand near jang storage night of inspection and sometimes you'll pick up sos d1 items

best is to get friend, punch then and as you turn from pink to white run into their aoe light nukes then have friend punch bot while it is pink so it doesnt turn white then you get on horse and run into its aoe nuke again and he murders horse

Uh, it does piss the bot companies off, we found that out. xD They started moving their bots to get plvled so they wouldn't die from the light thieves. As for the items, I don't know that they do or don't drop them on purpose, but they certainly drop stuff randomly. There is a chance that you can drop an item every time you die, and the more you die, the more likely that chance becomes, so they start dropping items from dieing. xP

Bot Accusations aren't allowed. Lets keep those out of these topics. If you have sufficient proof to show they do in fact bot, we'll be more than happy to remove them from the forums. Please proceed to the Exposed Botters area.

That just kind of furthers the thought that it is not a company doing it so much but your fellow players. First if I were a company and got used to running rampant on every server as basic business then this whole business of having to power lvl the bots is a lot of extra work for just 1 server. Second if all I was in it for was to bot and sell gold then why would I have a higher lvl char on hand to power lvl the gold bots. On both counts you probably would not. You would on the other hand if you were a player/botter who botted your own gold to use/sell to the gold selling companies. It used to be common knowledge that the gold selling companies bought gold too. It is entirely possible that they still do and you just don't hear much about it because a few hard core botting players are keeping them fully supplied or they are actually run by the botting players. All the more reason to stop banning the symptoms A.K.A. the gold bots and start banning the problems the players that own them and the people that buy the gold. Joymax knows who they are. Just don't ever expect them to do anything. So I guess this whole AOE business is as good as it gets to piss off your fellow players.

Saw it with my own eyes

a trader has a lightning thief killing gold bots (usual method) a level 69+ came to him & say stop doing that , of course the trader didn't after 1 minute a thief came & one shot this guy (captain obvious FTW)

later this week on Tuesday saw same guy/thief plvling gold bots in hotan i have screen shots too if any one wants to see

Accusations have been removed. Please refrain from quoting them in the future. Instead of doing so, use the report button so the mods can take care of them.

It does not help at all just check the difference between all servers go visit the towns you wont notice a huge difference just the older server have more player bots than goldbots (as in 2nd or more chars botting without silk) difference between both goldbots can be easy noticeable in towns, clientless have different walking patterns in towns.

I'd do it but I'm pretty sure it'll take more than just one high level for this type of job, there would be other random high levels roaming around wanting to spoil the whole thing, especially the ones that own the farmers.

Edited accusations out. Please don'g bring personal dramas into general discussions. Thanks!

You delevel them and helps them out in a way and of course a lot more gold goes to the fortress owner. It does piss off the companies since they're not getting a higher level and you'll see them plvling at random places now instead of having them level to 30 by a level 60. Epic.

*cough* 0x33 members indisquise *cough*

I know how the routine is done, when a group of kiddies get threatened or informed of someone they don't like they all flock in unity against the person or people, and try to pretend that they themselves are legit and try to use smear tactics. It's a very junior high behavior, but hey some people here have only gone that far in their education. ;)

Anyways, I'm done in this thread, I've got my questions answered and new information I didn't know about. Thank you all ;)

It'd be really nice if people globaled it before they did them or during or something. The gates lag for me so I just click through the exit and end up dead before I actualyl see any attacker. I was at pennon';s in an 8 man party and somone dragging a monstor from roc mountian killed everyone in the party besides me with it. It's kind of obvious if it's an 8 man party it's not a bot yet they said they were killing bots.. If you aiming for bots that's great but don't hit innocents and if you do at least res them....

Most of eldorado buy gold. My friends tried it and i hada good time to see how the bots die again and again, but after 4 hours we bored it. :D

I love standing near bot traps with a bunny, I get lots of 50 return scrolls, med mp and hp pots and items that have wind 2 and 3.

Kinda late mentioning this, but I'm sure most of the gold farmers will follow your gold trails if you drop any amount of gold, that saves much more time and effort to get the npc hunter/thief's splash damage to hit them. :)

The majority of gold companies actually don't run gold bots, what happens is they buy gold in bulk from gold farmers (which is almost always gold bot owners.) for discount price. Then sell it for higher...

Sorry I don't play botroad online anymore or any MMO anymore for that matter. Only time I find to read and post to forum is slow time at work on my non iPhone with opera mobile. No fancy formatting features like newlines etc.

At any rate yeah SRO is ..... even what avalon is doing is only a minor inconvenience to the players that own and operate the bots. Short of Joymax doing something(just the thought that people think they might makes me laugh till I hurt) the best you can do is splash kill them and that actually can help them or at the very least is only a minor inconvenience. If you guys are so addicted to SRO etc don't waste your time hoping for joymax to do something or going to private servers. I have take up building and scripting in SecondLife. I have plans to duplicate some of the SRO gear for nostalgia's sake but you know what. If I or someone else were so inclined it would not take a lot to duplicate the better parts of SRO in SL. Skills gear fx etc. Seriously rather then basing your forhead into the joymax brick wall you could make the gear etc in SL and get this. Actually make money. Nuts I know but I have made close to 50 bux off SL in the last few months and that is just off random tips DJing clubs. Have not even opened a store yet. SRO was a great concept but salvaging it has not been possible for years.

Hey, really wish you luck with that. I was very active in SL for two years, played a lot of the RPG's available. If you think it's doable better than someone else, get to it :). Most of the RPG's were just "ok", even though I had/have a level 58 char in DarkLife (one of the better RPG's), I stopped logging in about a year and a half ago.

There's a woman in Second Life who makes her living selling real estate, Anshe Chung.
