WTH is going on?

So after hearing about Barotix, i decided to check the Greece ban list for the hell of it...one of my academy members is on there! He's not a botter, he was only level 24 for christ sake! It has nothing to do with inactive accounts, he's on every single day, more than i am. I dont understand how Joymax could think he was a goldbot either, he never grinded in goldbotter territory and 80% of the time the only exp he got was from me power leveling him in the ong field. This is completly f*cked up and wrong! His first char got hacked, and Joymax did nothing about it when he emailed them. Now he makes a new char and he gets banned for no reason at lvl 24. Joymax is really starting to screw up now and it's making me mad. Even legits aren't safe from bans anymore, GG Joymax you certainly know how to ruin a game.

They just put 3500 names in a GIANT hat and pick out names blindfolded. Then they check to see if the person who pulled out has bought silk. If the final answer is no, they get banned =) (this isn't true before anyone flames me. I know people who have bought silk have been banned)

Botting isn't the only reason people get banned. Modified media.pk2's, impersonating a GM or having two clients on at the same time on the same pc (or even possible just under the same IP) is enough to get banned.

However, we can all see from Barotix's case that people are banned randomly. Does it give a reason why he was banned? (thats if you keep in touch with him outside of sro)

yeah i have his Xfire, i'm def gunna ask him about it the next time he logs on, and no he didn't have modded PK2's or anything, he was just a lil noob trying to play the game

It's very hard to prove if someone is buying gold though. I have transfered masses gold between accounts about two or three times and I wouldn't expect to be banned for it.

Let's just see what JM's reason for the ban is.

I think Joymax is trying to push out all the regular players, cheaters, and anyone that spends a good amount of time playing the game that does not buy silk. Reasoning behind this is they probably want to see if they can force these people to buy silk, or just get rid of all the people clogging server, so when they do stop the weekly bannings the server will fill up with even more gold bots, whether you believe it or not, I believe either joymax is in contract with most these gold farmers, or they are sister companies.

This is a Tyranny, Joymax being the Tyrant and us the lowly peasants. Unless your willing to stand against it they are just gunna walk all over you. Granted only like 15% of the population actually uses SRF, but ya know, if your not part of the solution your part of the problem =). My lvl 80 is inactive right now because i'm playing Age of Conan, it would be nice to be able to come back to my char in a few months and start farming again but at this rate without anymore silk purchases and the random bans that SRO is doing now i have a feeling my acct's gunna go bye bye XD.

Unlike you (not saying your doing a bad thing or anything) i'm not gunna do what Joymax wants, if i lose my char so be it, it was fun but in the end it's still just a game.

Besides AoC rapes SRO anyway but the PvP system in SRO is quite brilliant, i'll also missing pwning uniques but hey, i think i can live with my accomplishments in the game. I have achieved more in a year than some have achieved in 2 or more.

yeah why wouldnt you want to ban non silk buying people that are taking up slots in your server? Of course you would cause you want people that are going to pay for that slot not some free loading 13 year old. It's all about money, it always has been.

It's a FREE MMO, yet they are banning people that don't pay, it's contradictory.

Joymax could atleast be polite about it and say you know "Non silk purchasing accounts my be banned to make room for silk buyers, or atleast something other than random bans leaving everything with no reason.

- there were a lot of complaints on the official website of pk2 editing and the invisibility status removal. Somewhere there is a link between JM's part of the program and the program on your own PC. Perhaps they patched it because they wanted to remove pk2 using players and banned them

- another possibility is playing in an internet cafe or with characters that are not playing legit on the same network (at home, job, café, etc). Perhaps they started blocking IP's like so many players asked for on the official forum. It's worth checking it. I know that main accounts of an IP are active, but players got secundary accounts on the same IP blocked

Been playing seen i joined this forum...never brought silk...don't see why you guys are have these problems...I still go though the daily ritual of typeing really fast at login, grinding in f12, picking up my drops etc...(and checking for high lvls who will plvl me for free hehe in party match ><) that was before i join Venus...(now i join union parties weee.....) Where do you get your information from? The fact of the matter is everything that you hear about as to why Joymax bans people, it's all rumours. Joymax don't say 'oh btw we're also banning people who get plvled', that's just a sheer guess. People can't just randomly make things up based on tiny pieces of evidence.

They stated a couple of times on the official forum that pk2 editing isn't legal.

I also know that some players reinstalled an older version (I think 1.51, in fact the new client when Roc came out) because you aren't DC'ing when you login. They can probably check that kind of stuff out.
