Thus rev6 has ruined the point of an alias

No, Joymax did that by sending that information to the client. rev6 is just leveling the playing field, by making that information available to everyone in stead of just the people that cheat.

So now everyone can cheat, how is that fair?

That's actually a good question, and the answer is, the world isn't fair so we might as well make the best out of it.

Now lets take what you said and reflect it back to sro. Sro, as in life, isn't fair. So lets all make the best of it and cheat?

Thats hardly a good attitude for the mod of a legit forum to be taking right?

Who ever said life was fair? If you want this issue resolved fairly, tell Joymax to stop sending information to the client that can link the player name to the alias.

So because life isn't fair, you think that gives you justification to cheat? By cheating it only adds to more unfairness and further adds to the problem that we are arguing about. But by making a stand you can slowly change "the world". Take Avalon for example. The founders of Avalon didn't like the cheating and botting that occurred in xian. So instead of adding to the problem, they took stand. They created a near idealistic heaven for the legit and fair gamers and their hard work continues on. Piece by piece they are getting rid of the bots and gold buyers. Sure, its not perfect.. but they are trying and putting up a dam good fight which is a hell of a lot more than you are doing.

But no, you can just keep supporting cheating all you want. Justice will come to you on day.

except not. in an ideal world (online and off), sure, justice police comes to save the day and every1 lives happily ever after. however, this is online, and this is joymax. everyone wit money can cheat and they won't feel the consequences. sure, they'll lose a character once in a while, but what's it to them? they'll bot up another one. they'll buy more gold, they'll get those suns back.

it's really a lose lose situation for online games. if u cheat in real life and in a competitive sport, u've got to live with that stigma ur whole life. on sro, u switch servers or create a new character.

I wasn't refering to "online justice".

The morals you show online are usually based upon your offline morals. If he is so willingly supportive of cheating and not taking a stand in an online game, chances are in life he feels the same way. One day he will cheat in the wrong situation, mess with the wrong people or even get on the back end of karma.

no, that's wrong though. what u do online does not accurately reflect what u will do irl. just keep online and real life seperate, that goes for examples as well.

We are who we are. When we type we express our opinions. When we do an actions it represents a part of us. Just because its "online" it doesn't mean we should ignore our morals right? Online is still a part of offline life, its a reflection of it. We are still expressing ourselves like we do in person or on the phone, its just through a different media. In no way should our opinions and morals drastically change just because we are infront of a computer.

it's not a drastic change in morals when u start to cheat in an online game. that's the difference. online games are an escape from real life, ppl see them as such, and even the most law-abiding ppl might still bot or buy gold because it simply doesn't effect them that much.

u'r saying what u believe. who u r online is prolly who u r irl. but for many others, that's not the case.

In your opinion, the only people that check rev6 for this information are the cheaters, and they already had access to this information anyway, so where's the problem in this example? :) The cheaters already had the information, and the legit players just won't use the rev6 information. Personally, I've never felt a need to go to rev6 to find out who thieved me or who I just thieved from, and if legit players feel the same way, they just have to stop themselves from going to rev6 to check. Really, it isn't that hard.

All I said was: it's not rev6 that made cheating possible. Joymax did that. Rev6 just made it so all people can cheat equally. There's always the choice not to cheat.

As for myself: I don't cheat, I don't use bots, I don't buy gold. Simple and clean, and it's my choice.

I can't resist but to call you an idiot. Can you stop letting things flame up to your head and give it just 5 seconds to think what I said. Making the best of it would mean finding a good server along with a legit community. Did I ever say anything about cheating? If you ever bring "mod" and "legit forum" up on my eyes again, I will be really pissed at you.

I hate that another thread has turned into something promoting Avalon is some way.
That is what kills me.

Eh.
Didn't read the whole topic, so sorry if this post phails.
I search for peoples aliases on rev6 only if they use pk2 edit against me.
Then I either global about how they're a nub, or spamkill them in PvP.
Maybe a bit of both, that's how I roll~

I've never gone to Rev6.com and checked on someones Alias. Just because I wouldn't want it done to me so why would I do it to other people?
Also I don't really care if people know who I am. :)
