Do goldbots really drive prices up?

Some of you may have noticed Bots sell elixers and sos sometimes every day of the week or just on weekends. They sell severely under market prices. Which tends to drive prices down. Gold Bots add more gold to the economy and increases the number of people with gold and in theory increase the amount they are willing to spend. Bots also supposedly get large amounts of SOS and Elixers based of people complaints about them. So more SOS + more gold + more elixers = more expensive equipment that kills the economy ???

Is a SOSUN Dagger with a 26 Critical worth more because more gold exists? I'd say if 20 were for sale perhaps as it'd mean enough people would exist but with less than 10 I assume thier are some rich people that want one of the best weapons possible ALl it requires to sell is one rich person. Surely somone has billions that has not done loads of stalling or bought gold.

If there was a max degree sosun+255 weapon, and there was 20 gold in the server, it would cost 20 gold. If there was 5 bajillion gold, it would cost 5 bajillion gold.

For example.

It's not the stuff they sell..But the gold they get from it (and from grinding) and selling that. Because everyone can buy a few bil in gold, they bid against eachother. That's why the prices go through the roof.

Your right, it does increase the amount of gold in the economy. That's the problem. It is basic inflation, with more money stores can charge more. As the prices go up people go and get more money which allows stores to further raise prices. It is a cycle that will spin out of control very quickly, and that's how goldbots drive up prices.

But besides capped SOS does anything go up is my point. Overall I've seen SOS prices plummet on Posiden a SOS 24 BOW was running 4. 5 mil a bout a year ago now 1.5 mil for them.

The price of items is only low if no interested parties can afford the item. I'm pretty sure somone can afford 1 - 2 bil without buying gold I was under the impression that was the highest the prices were for 9d atm

you obviously never played back in the days of the 60 cap. barely any botters 7D sos never got higher than 1 mil or maybe 2 or 3 back when people hangrinded and jobbed to get all thier money. since gold is an unlimited resourse in sro each time more gold is introduced into the eocnomy the rest of the gold loses its value slightly, (since youve obviously never heard of inflation, which the above is the example of) this results in inflated prices for everything you cant buy from a npc char

People would use those lower lvl sos to farm, and now since there is ong farming they dont need them anymore and the demand is low

Yup. It's kind of hard to trade when you are 40+ and every gate exiting the town has at least 4 80+ thieves waiting for you. *takes off trader flag*

Yup, this is basically why things cost so much; it's inflation of the in-game economy: There's an increase of currency into the economy in relation to the amount of goods available, and over time the worth/buying power of currency goes down (in this case gold), and the general prices of goods raise. As the worth of the currency decreases, the general price of goods need to increase to accomodate.

Your example is worthy of me quoting it and praising it.
