What if joymax released a new server like Gaia as a p2p server? I mean the other server are still free 2 play. Would reduce the amount of goldbot... Anyone think this possibility could be a good idea? I mean, they already programmed a function for the game to be p2p...

Interesting, i dont think they will make it p2p anytime soon.

All i can say is, we better get 250silk monthly for free or else the server is going to be a rip off.

Yknow, companies just get as much goldbots in a server as they can, if you have like 500 paying people, you will have like 3000 gold bots (Dont know the capacity correctly ). Unless joymax actually bans the bots and maybe sells the gold themself. The problem will be then, silkroad wont be f2p anymore, and will lose a lot of players.

They programmed nothing. That string is just in there so licensees have the option. iSRO will never be P2P.

Maybe a test server people can use for 3 days or so; only JM knows.
And ur assumption saying sro already has a p2p function is wrong -.-

hmm who was it the other day saying all the new effort to fix hte game might be possible they'd sell it soon might be right, or maybe a pay to play game be coming after all who would pay if they didn't manage it

No warries...SRO will be F2P 4eva...if they go P2P they'd be bankrupt in no time cause they can't stand with the other P2P games.

they could effectively remove gold bots (by going p2p and some more serious bot crackdown) and delete old servers allowing a character migration to only a few of the newer servers so that they would have a contraction of all active players on only a few servers, and there would be no need to allow gold bots to plug up all the available places.

If silkroad was to move to p2p they'd have to do a massive genocide on bots if not silkroad will be one of those games that dies within time and no longer exist in a matter of months.

P2P would be insane for a private server,ISRO is never gonna be that lvl since profit is the rule

I think licensees are sold to companies who wants to start another version of SRO
Exemple: rSRO (russian SRO) or zSRO (zimbabwe SRO) -> you get the point.

The game is already P2P for silk buyers and with out silk buyers there would be no support of the running costs of iSRO = no F2P players
