Because babel is 99.99% legit, there is only 2 or 3 botters in the whole server

All 7x too though lol. I think 1 8x. All seem like gold bots though because they had plain npc gear it looked like.

Babel was released just after Troy, so it's the 4th server. I'm guessing they can't control it or something after the crash in late '06

Babel is one of the oldest servers as it was opened around the time when the SRO beta ended.

Maybe Joymax is using Babel to monitor how banning gold bots on other servers effect market price for gold. If there's huge difference for how much gold is sold on Babel than on other servers where bans have happened, then clearly those bans do have effect but if the gold price is same on Babel as on other servers, then bans have no effect.

+100 dude, nice idea and probably true too.

Their bot detection is farked up on Babel. And yes, they do use a script, they dont run around and write 50k names down. Example, checking coords after teleporting to town, if going twice same x/y through town == ban, but then again that would be easy to change, guess we will never know how they really detect them

As for Babel's lack of bans: I'm wondering if maybe they are using Babel as sort of a test server. Essentially leave Babel alone, ban bots on all the other servers, and compare the effects on server status, economy, revenue and profits for each server. Babel could just be the 'control group' in their experiment.

Edit: It appears Tohak beat me to the experiment idea for Babel.

it is pretty annoying i have to say. I tried yesterday night at 3AM or something, and it said: 'The server is full, try again later.' Joymax just dislikes babel ;<
