The Drop System Fails

It has good intentions, but for some reason lately it's been failing.

People can come late, do 10% damage to the monster and it magically decides they should get the drop rather than the person (me) who has been fighting the giant for 5+ minutes and did 90% of the damage.

It also gives that 1 person who did absolutely nothing ALL of the items from the drop. That alone is fail. It allows someone to do a ton of work, and get their EXP and Items all stolen from them. I think the drops should be partial. So that when that big high level comes to KS you, you still get something instead of just losing out on all the fun.

It makes me cry... ;-; (ok not really, but its annoying enough to make a topic about!)

The person who does the most dmg to a mob, get the drops.

But you hit a mob voor 700 (the mob has 1k hp), someone else comes by and nukes/hits w/ever it for 900 (so 600 overkill) he will get the drop(s).

That's the system, you can't change it.

Lol, i think he is talking about quest drops.

Damage dealed = you get items as equipment, pots, etc.
Last hit = you get the quest drops or quest kill.

Right now im doing the quest "slave escape plan 1", the quest goal is hunt 600 wing tribe chasers and im finishing it very quick because even when the hp of the mobs is 10% i get the quest kill if i deal the last hit (ks FTW), so if we are talking about quests its all about dealing the last hit, thats the drop system, it cant be changed.

Tell that to silkroad, all I know is that I had that mob down to like 30% hp. And some high level guy runs up and pwns it and gets all these equip drops and all the gold.

Not quest items.

Not in a party.

Just some random ass guy.

the party with the highest dmg deal get the drop, if is a distribution party the drop go to the one who did the biggest dmg, if it is a share party the drop will go to the next in line person.
share parties work like this:
1hp herb -> 1st guy
150 arrows -> 2nd guy
1 sox weap -> 3rd guy
... and so on
whoever is in line will get the item dropped, no matter what it is.
the gold will just be divided by the number of players in the party and every1 will get his share.

Then it's probably some party people with item distribution on. Cuz I swear, no matter how much damage I do on a giant or party giant, 2-3 people run over and then the drops are -never- mine.

It's annoying because it only happens when there are equipment drops. When I kill a giant by myself, just gold and alchemy items. The game is secretly hating me!

Be happy sro drops gold at least. Look at other mmorpg's. You gotta do a lot of work to earn gold.

You are 33, so I think that the random guys running by are atleast lvl 60+ So ofcourse they'd pwn your (pt) giant because their dmg is like 5 times yours.

If you play in 4/4 party near a 8/8 party,
a monster spawn, you kill it ,
it might drop a quest item for someone in the 8/8 ,
even though none of them hit the mob.

that's the only thing i noticed.

drop stealing with doing only 10 % damage can't be,

I think id a person hits it for 501 dmage and the other person over kills it for 600, then the drop should go to the person the took over half of the original HP

imo the sistem with the higher dmg takes the kill is good. but it sould be fixed... since the over dmg should not count... and this makes it easyer to ks :(
