What Joymax is doing is ILLEGAL.

In the United States there is a law that prohibits companies from using a Bait and Switch tactic to hook in customers, providing them with the false idea that they will get a good deal on an item that is no longer in stock.

An example is say a 52'' plasma screen TV on sale 75% off but there are only 2 in stock and get sold immediately. People come in the rest of the day ready to purchase the TV but since there are no more they end up buying something else since they feel they came for nothing. The store owner intentionally only has 2 in stock so that he doesn't lose money and at the same time makes profit off of the people that came in wanting the TV but decided not to leave empty handed. THIS IS ILLEGAL!

This example can be applied to what Joymax is doing. They offer a "free" game to attract people but offer very limited slots on their servers so that you are forced to pay money to log in. It's a Bait and Switch tactic used to lure customers in and end up paying for what should have been free. It's very similar to false advertising.

um it's first not illegal second their are plenty of slots. If you've noticed when no bots are on thier is plenty of room. Some people here are even wanting to run more than 1 client doesn't that imply thier is plenty of room if they think they can get 2 on?

It is a free game.

Do you have to pay to play? No.
Will the game be better if you do? Yes

I've always wanted to make one of those ^_^

Anyway, you're a moron if you think you can sue Joymax for that. It's free to play, not free to log on first time. You can play for free if you're willing to sit there for ages and try to log on, nowhere on any of their advertisements or ToS does it say you will get on first time. They simply offer their clients PREFERRED game access which allows them to get on first time + more bonuses.

Besides, Joymax isn't in the United States....

You'd better get a lawyer pronto then before anyone steals this wonderful idea!

Also, like JustaDude said you might want to stop researching US law since it doesn't apply to countries outside of the US.

They say they don't allow bots, and they actually do ban some now and then, so they aren't really saying something then not doing it -.-.

Even if it is total BS and its painfully obvious they don't try to really ban bots.

Technicality ftl.

I'd say "we are doing our best to assure pleasant gaming" or w/e is pretty false, mainly about how they say they don't want bots but let them stay, and how theres no customer service.

Free or not means shit, they certainly make plenty of money from this free game.

the only thing that aint free is the silk and the items you buy just to have an advantage in the game.
and where don't you get some kind of advertisment trick from a company.
