I just got a lvl76 SOM 1H Sword drop. Is this SOM+5 stronger then the last teir 1H Sword +7?

if u have both y not compare then urself ? highest i got was +3 ,+2 ,3 elixirs to make +1

I dont have both...I dont even have a last teir +7 so I cant compare. Asking this question for the experts.

For 8th Degree 64+10 = 74 vs 72
For 9th Degree 76+10 = 86 vs 85

Physical Reinforce % will always Higher on SoM

yeah but the 85 is +7 and som only +5 so som losses 1 level on 85...anyway sell that shit while the prices are overhyped

try som +7 and u dont have problem

we can see that the attack power on the +7 is consistently higher across 0-100%, but the SOM's reinforces are higher across 0-100%. this means that no matter the %, the result of our calculation should remain consistent so long as the comparison is between 2 weapons of the same or similar % values.

now for the assumptions in order to make the calculation to final attack power:
pure str lvl 90 warrior
average 5 str on each piece of gear + shield = +60 str

total str = 436

- we can make these assumptions because these variables remain constant between the comparison calculations, so the resulting figure will scale proportionally if these assumptions aren't true.

physical attack power = weapon's physical attack power + (STR * weapon's physical reinforce)

i dont know if SRO rounds or truncates, so i'm going to leave the decimal values on the results.

SOM+5 MIN (0%) = 1447 + (436 * 218.3%) = 2398.788
SOM+5 MIN (100%) = 1524 + (436 * 241.0%) = 2574.76
SOM+5 MAX (0%) = 1720 + (436 * 266.8%) = 2883.248
SOM+5 MAX (100%) = 1815 + (436 * 294.5%) = 3099.02

85+7 MIN (0%) = 1490 + (436 * 214.0%) = 2423.04
85+7 MIN (100%) = 1565 + (436 * 236.3%) = 2595.268
85+7 MAX (0%) = 1755 + (436 * 261.6%) = 2895.576

it is apparent from these figures that a 85+7 would be more powerful, but by pennies. and you'd probably never notice a difference. also, if you +7 the SOM, it would be obviously more powerful. in my opinion, if you were planning to use the SOM yourself, and not sell it, i would use a SOM that i picked up for free over a 85+7, since they are roughly equivalent. not to mention that SOM crit stats are higher than non SOX, so you can probably get a good crit easier than with a normal weapon.

and they look cooler.


oh and as for the guy i quoted, you lucked out, the reinforces didnt make as much of a difference as i thought they would. ^^

sosun on the other hand usually wtfpwns stuff with similar attack power stats though...

Actually im pretty sure that only applies to chinese weapons, to my knowledge a sun european item will have the same crit max as a white one.

Yep SoM 76+5 will be stronger than 85+7 overall (due to higher reinforce % and posibilites to get other stats higher compared to an 86 wepon), but make it +7 as well to be even better lucky sod btw lol

wow, i think youre right, according to nivlam that's true. i dont know why i didnt notice that before.

in that case, ive looked at AR and dura on a 85+7 and a 76 som+5 and theyre also just about exactly the same. so a 85+7 1-hander and a som+5 would pretty much be identical in dmg, the only factor contributing to which is better being the %'s on the stats. it still stands, though, that a som would be better because you could +7 it and it would be clearly better. not to mention som looks pretty awesome
