Alchemy Sucks? There are that time when you can make +5 without lucky powders. I think it happens like once in a week, for an hour or so, you are super lucky. Just my experience on making my +7 and +5s.

Did you use lucky powder? I've NEVER seen an elixir fail at +1 with lucky with lucky powder.
