Other ways to stop botting.

Hi.
I just had som thoughts about botters and goldbots.
Its obvious you cant stop them inside of the game.
Its obvious, most player botters buy gold, coz they cant handle their gold expenses, also they dont know how to make gold ingame(only pvp or jobbing).
So here is the deal.
If you could stop goldsellers outside of game...
(DoS attack against their sites? Others stuff?)
You could stop their goldbots too.
Duh.
If no goldbots are there.
Player bots cant buy gold.
Either, they stop botting, or,
They leave the game, or,
They learn how to play the game, thus, leave botting(hopefully)
pls share ideas and other stuffz(for example, how can you help on a DoS attack against goldseller sites?)
Cheers.
Yukijobo(ingame)
EDIT:
The illegal issue... i think its not illegal. We arent disobeying jm's ToS, so...
wiki about the DoS:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DoS_attackEDIT2:
The hard part is, most goldseller companies consists of programmers and alike, hard to beat them, but least, some1 could try this if he has the resources to undermine player bots goldsupport.
imho.

Not just 'player bots' buy gold, alot of people who handgrind purchase gold.
In fact i'd say more legit grinders buy gold more than player bots as they just bot 24/7 on green mobs to get gold.
You idea is stupid, DoS attacking is illegal

if you honestly think 1 in 15 people have full sun then you are stupider then I thought. And by the way, most botters have stall accounts...

Lol funny.
Ever been on Aege?
Or Xian?
Yeah...
I can say 1/15 have sun
1/20 have full sun
EDIT: There are guilds in these servers with sun requirements.
Oh even Greece. As I hear KUWAIT is a big sun guild.

Either way, anyone who buys gold supports directly goldbots.
If you can somehow stop the goldseller sites, you stop most of the goldbots too.
That means lesser trafic, more legits on the server.
For me at least.

Well, its possible, but in my land i cant go in prison for a DoS attack
Besides, if you just press f5, and you are not alone, you could cause a spontaneus DoS attack.
I wintessed this several times on sites like
http://www.ize.hu, or
http://www.szanalmas.hu.
They are fun sites, and have awesome popularity. When some1 uploads a link, and the site posted has not so good background server side, it will collapse easely.

You're wrong, it's the opposite. Gold bots exist to serve gold buyers.
And now thanks to client less bots, even a bot player can get there own gold farming army. >_<
Banning gold buyers is sure far more effective than gold companies, no one sells what no one buys. *g*

Although most DDoS attacks are malicious in nature, the same technique can be used to aid the Internet community. Internet fraud schemes, such as Nigerian 419 scams or phishing, commonly involve fraudulent websites that either impersonate a real website for purposes of stealing the victim's identity, or lend credibility to a scammer's fictional business venture to lure the victim into a false sense of confidence. Scam baiters, who combat these scams by posing as victims for the purpose of wasting the scammer's time and money and obtaining information that can be used by authorities, will forward sites they encounter during the course of their conversations to groups that specialize in site-killing.[citation needed] The group will first try to have a site taken down by informing the host of said site that the site is being used fraudulently. In the case where that approach fails, the group will organize a "takedown" of the site by encouraging its members to visit the site en masse and continually refresh its content (an intentional form of the Slashdot effect sometimes referred to as flash mobbing, although that term is technically reserved for real-world gatherings). Alternately, some groups have special web pages that link to images hosted by these fake sites and show the images to visitors (usually members or supporters of the site-killing group) while constantly reloading them, which is known as intentional bandwidth hogging.[citation needed] The purpose, similar to malicious DoS attacks, is to (a.) rapidly consume all of the website's allocated monthly bandwidth, after which requests for the site's content are refused, (b.) draw the attention of the site's host, who when faced with the constant onslaught on the entire hosting network's resources, will usually remove the site, and/or (c.) take up all available connections and maximum throughput of the host so that would-be victims cannot access the site.
This is what im talking about.

No, all you have to do is have Daily Bot Traps in Donwhang or Hotan, for low levels do Jangan but since you are killing some that are below level 11 it doesnt really help much.
You would think that with all the killings of bots daily, goldbots would lose alot of money by dropping all their crap on the floor and if it keeps up after a year or two of daily goldbot killings, goldbot companies will have to pull out due to they can't keep up to their customers demands because the bots can't do what they do.
Its simple supply and demand, you cut off their supply and they will have to leave because they can't keep up with the demand. In due time with the goldbot killings, goldbotter companies will have to raise their prices to keep their company running, making for less buyers because of rising costs; and in due time, they will simply have to pull out of the market.

Banning the (gold) buyers account(s) would put fear in to them and lead to limited sales. To a point where its not (worth or) profitable to sell gold because of customer criticism and charge back etc

. This would stop a large amount of the bots that are used to re-sell gold. But this still leaves users that use gold bots for their own fortune.

lol you copied this from another forum
Ok I was logging in on the 20th attempt at what used to be the lowest server traffic time of the day and realized that the gold bots overrunning has more than killed the economy of the server. So, since joymax wont take any action against them, we should just DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) the hell out of all their IPs, which would cause a great enough disrupt for them to all DC too much to make any gold. All we gotta do is obtain lists of their IPs (this part I'm not so good at ) then set up a relatively simple AutoIT script to send packets through a little app (I'm trying to find a DDoS app thats clean; I know for a FACT the one on my other computer is spiked >.<).
So, you guys think this would work? It does not take much to DC from SRO, so it really shouldn't take too much to cause considerable damage.
So say what you think, give suggestions, or help provide IPs/Clean DDoS executables. Who knows, it could work.
i dont think it would work anyways

32Gigabits are enough?

(joke)
http://www.bix.hu/BTW, i had a job in Budapest Internet Exchange(BIX).
This central distributes the net over half of Hungary and is nod in the Middle european spine network.
I think i can get at most 1 gigabit. But thats not important.
The important stuff is to get dudes who are willing to help.
If the goldsellers can be organized, i think the ppl wanting to get rid of goldbots can do it too....

If you can be so resourceful to carry this out, there are other better things in life you could do than trying to fix an online game. It is not a solution, but an action that will lead to further problems.

Yeah, DDoSing led to a big problem in the Halo PC Community after a while. Its nice that you want to DDoS the goldbot companies and seeing them shut down will make alot happy; but think though, script kiddies will get a hold of a DDoSing script and threaten other people with it then, just like how a few kids in the HPC community did if they didnt get their way.
I still think that goldbot massacres will help, if done daily.

I bet Joymax will rather ban you for disrupting their income from premium users who bought premium to login. Besides, it is not too hard to work around DOS attacks. Otherwise we have major sites going down everyday...
