You know what SRO needs? Offline messaging.

We all know how difficult it can be to log in to any of the servers, especially the old ones, without premium during peak traffic (granted, almost 24x7 on old servers).

I was lucky enough to log in this morning despite the traffic. Hotan started loading up, my character appeared, I got a message at the top of the screen "You have a note unread." and BAM! Disconnected. The client just disappeared resulting in a ???? error.

I'm sure the note wasn't important, no one ever sends me notes in-game. It would just be nice to be able to go to silkroadonline.net to check those messages, and respond to them, or create new messages, without having to log into the actual game.

its a bug.... if some one sends a blank msg to you, when you click 'close' sro closes.... xD

it would be nice since some ppl i guess are sprear around differnt servers, then they would know which server they are needed on for a guild war or if friends have arranged to all go out theifing or somthing, would be a good idea if u can cheak it on the login screen or on the main site

It's kinda anoying, as spambots are now sending messages to people, trying to sell them gold.

Anyway, something like that is quite nice indeed. In that way you can "Chat" with people being ingame
Just keep on sending messages.

That doesn't really matter alot, on tibet they dont do it the whole time. Put your chat on guild or union
Those messaging is more annoying as it fills your inbox.

Well I didn't even get to the point of opening the message. I just spawned in hotan, all the graphics started loading (character skins, ground textures, etc). I got that "you have a note unread" message, and then DC. So I'm guessing it wasn't a blank message.

Yes those gold-selling messages in the inbox is annoying. Maybe Joymax could only allow offline messages from people in your guild (or union) and those on your friends list. All others would not be delivered to your offline inbox.
