Silkroad Online Forums

It's really sad to me that everywhere you turn there are WoWer's RPing with each other.... is it true that no one on SRO RP's? By RP I mean people get into a chat room or have a special forum thread (here or on their own RP forum) and post back and forth to each other to carry on a story.

My boyfriend and I have a little bit of vague SRO story going on that we RP sometimes, but mostly only on anniversaries or my birthday... we REALLY need more people to RP with! We play on Zeus, but even just having people to co-write stuff with would be really nice. Anyone doing this already? If not, is anyone interested in the idea?

Please tell me that you at least know what Dungeons and Dragons is? If you do (if you don't, wiki it... if you ask me what it is I will lose all faith in the upcoming generation, lol), it's sort of like that, but less rule-focused and more story-focused.

Basically a bunch of people post on a forum or in a chat room and make a big group story, except it's real time. And sometimes we roll a 20-sided die to see how we do if we want to leave something up to chance.

Please tell me someone knows what I'm talking about that?

People do role-play on Silkroad Online. Usually within a close community or group, which is why it isn't so big to the public.

I personally don't role-play, because role-playing isn't as appealing for Silkroad Online towards me. It's probably because I play a female character.

I would think a female character would have more fun role-playing than actually playing. Of course if you're a guy, there's always ERP (erotic roleplay) which is the only reason guys seem to play female characters in text-based RP's. I play a female too, and it's really interesting to find creative things for females to do. i.e. my female character is a prostitute trying to support herself by tagging along with a hunter and his trade party for protection, looking for better paying customers. It's a lot more interesting than just grinding all the time, especially if you manage to combine the two.

Role-playing isn't all about verbal. It can also be body language. So.. You can role-play it out as the bot as a.. mute who mindlessly kill monsters for a better tomorrow!

And you can be its' frustrated hunter, who believes in saving the monsters, since they in actuality save the world! So you set out to destroy the mute who mindlessly destroys the monsters!

Role-play for everyone!

That's the spirit! Since you cannot physically hurt the mindless mute, because of a magical barrier that would change your name into different colors! Red and purple! And, no one likes those colors, at all.

So, you must set off to find a way to destroy the villain. Rumors been told that thieves who have the power of lightning can damage these mindless mutes indirectly! Only one circumstance, they need to use your body as the target!

To get these thieves, you would need to follow a trader's caravan until a thief would pop out of thin air. Then, right after, you would have to have make funny faces and sounds to provoke the thief. The thief being angry, would start to shoot lightning arrows at you! Since, they don't like funny sounds or gestures. With the thief angry, you should set out and find the mindless mute and stand right next to it. Preferably, hugging the mindless mute to encourage the volts of electricity into you to the mindless mute!

By doing this, you will succeed in destroying your arch enemy, the mindless mute!

(P.S. Again, not bot propaganda)

I'd love to be in a Role Playing community / guild. It'll make this game even more fun.

never really thought about it.....maybe because i have a very geeky friend that RPs alot.....ALOT....no offence.

so maybe that why im not really into...but SRO is an RPG its self...in a way...i guess

I'm never online enough to participate in something like this, but it could be fun. You have the prostitute hanging out with trade runs for protection. Perhaps the hunter is married to another character in-game and she finds out about the prostitute and goes on a murderous rampage.

in a rp silk road bots should be called the soulless

I used to do a lot of RP on WoW, even have mods that were made specifically for RP as well. This game will prob be more fun with RP.. however you now can barely find any players who are actually sitting at their computer/laptop. Don't think it'd be fun to RP with ghosts would it?

Well after all, Silkroad Online is a Massively Muliti-player Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG)

I do see one way I could possibly get into a role for my character (as if I actually have time). I originally named my character PR0METHEUS after a starship from Star Trek (not Stargate), but Prometheus is also the name of a Greek Titan that stole fire from the gods to give to man. PR0METHEUS is a pure str fire blader. So I have the fire part, and pure STR is supposed to be strong, good tanker, hard to kill. Seems to fit quite well into who Prometheus is.

If I get more time to get into the RP aspect of this, I could try to find a way to fit that into SRO... aside from running around going purple on random people as I set them on fire hahaha.
