Tips on killing yarkan ?

I'm asking this cause yesterday night i met yarkan in the arena while waiting for generals party to assemble, and for the first 5 minutes it was only me(lvl 78 wizard), a warrior and a chinese nuker. i didnt use life turnover cause i was afraid to die, so i started nuking him with ice, fire and earth for about 15% of his hp, until other people came.
well, i kept on firing on and on, and when those elite spawns started shooting at me i was forced to shoot at them too or get killed, and then it was damn hard to target yarkan again cause of all the giants spawns taking 90% of the screen. eventually some other wizard, lvl 72, which probably did use life turnover, got the kill and not me.
do u have any strategy for wizards you can share ? do u use life turnover or not ? and how u avoid getting killed, which is pretty easy with 6k dmg from an elite niya hunter.

Wait until someone attacks and tanks it then, life turnover and nuke, don't use aoe nukes.
Get a cleric and a warrior to buff.

And what about those elite hunters spawn ? it doesnt help me if i dont use aoe neither, they just get aggro on me.

Run away and start attacking LY again. Those mobs attack people who ATTACK LY at that time. If you don't attack they will target someone else ( Due splash damage also ) And then you can start attacking again

balls to the walls just go all out, ull die lots but eventually ull get the kill, or use respawn scrolls, i odnt htink u lose dmg with those.

use noise and no aoe nukes >.> then you can lifeturnover and be fine

i thought when dying it doesnt count the points u killed until then, like when dying in a middle of killing a giant. when u dmg 50% of him, get killed, come back, and kill him, and get only 50% of the expirience points.
and.. i've got no noise, i'm a cleric >.>:P

dont die and you can eventually get a kill
getting LY stuck in a glitch works too

if he spawns creatures on top of you or you get caught in a swarm hold 'v' to make them all dissapear than you will be safe

as a wiz, you should be in a full pty with phys/mag fence protect and pain quota. Warriors tanking should shout every time LY spawns. Cleric should spam heal and get a bard to MP the cleric so he can senselessly spam. If you die get ressed fast. Zerk and LC. Have fun

Lol. My advice is put Fire Bolt in 1 and Frozen Spear in 2 and then hit 1 and 2 a lot.

noise doesnt prevent attck fr champ, giant, elite

+1, except for the use of quota xD. Protect should redirect aggro to the warrior so you can use aoe nukes (positioning is important, be close to your warrior).

Get a cleric in your party. If you want to ensure the kill, get 2 bards and another tank along with that.

Dont atack spawns. When they spawn you run 5-10 sec and then again atack Yarkan you should still have him targeted.

Why not use quota? As far as i know mages dont set off the quota bug and neither do any of the other mobs that spawn. Also it helps alot having a warlock(Like Astra from Avalon on Venus thanks man). We killed yarkan in almost exactly 1 1/2 minutes with two euro parties today, it was insane and i got the kill
cept lemon could have gotten the kill but she was helping res and heal.

got none. ive only killed one unique and it realy wasnt that rewarding but i remember at the very begining of Alexander a lvl 47 or so Bower got LY stuck in a glitch and killed him, i think his name was ISTANBULL. to this day i have no idea how he (or she) did it

hit him from far away until he got him back there then ran back... and yarkan got stuck...

The 1 1/2 min Yarkan kill was just awesome this afternoon! He died faster than a PTG general! hehe. It really was just awesome. Great kill on yarkan too BTW ^^
