SRO: Popular Facts and Myths?

Since we all know that Joymax isn't exactly doing a good job protecting their users' accounts, players in the game would often believe anything people tell them in order to protect their accounts from being hacked. However, although it seems like a good idea, some of these things turn out to be nothing more than myths. Some examples of undisclosed (officially) rumors would be the "Blocking Hack," "Critical Hack," "Trading Hack," "Invisible/Stealth Detect Hack," and "Share Party Hack." There are also a couple of alchemy-related rumors being spread throughout the community. With that being said, I think it would be a good idea to settle this matter and separate the facts and the myths of SRO.
Instructions:
a. Post the issue/topic
b. Choose if it's a fact or a myth
c. Explain why
Please keep it civilized. Thank You

well i know stealth/ detect hack is true, with a 90% certainty, i know some people would know for sure who have used/seen it, but i've seen the receiving end of those cheating looser, no skills, no pills, no attacking before i stealthed, multiple times and by only a few people
edit this hack makes sense because its client side, because your computer would receive the fact there is a invisible person and change your model to a blank model, but i heard the hack changes you to a beserked appearance to the people who can see you, which since the ability to target you would be client side simply because the invisible / stealth just changes your model, and the hack makes you show as a model that can be targeted
other hack so called hacks like you said i don't think would work because i think they are server side (aka the critical hack)

Maybe. But I'm still betting that it's not likely or at least rare since I've seen them in other MMORPGs. I even tested some of them like the 'PK hack' and 'instant kill hack' on other games like ROSE Online and pRagnarok Online. It's a difficult task but the question is: do they exist in SRO?

i have yet to see instant kill hacks, the closest thing is a bug with pain quota and either physical or magic fence, that will insta kill the party if enough people get aoed by one attack

Yeah, I agree with you.
wikipedia wrote:Hack has several meanings in the technology and computer science fields: a clever or quick fix to a computer program problem; a clumsy or inelegant solution to a problem; or a modification of a program or device to give the user access to features that were otherwise unavailable to them.

Perhaps you should look up the definition of "hack". It's not just "breaking into someone's computer" as the term is used today.
A hack is... a clever or quick fix to a computer program problem; a clumsy or inelegant solution to a problem; or a modification of a program or device to give the user access to features that were otherwise unavailable to them. (

.pk2 editing is a hack by definition. So technically if you pk2 edit, you are hacking.

there used to be a way to get yourself GM status and commands by injecting ........
but they patched all that during beta, it was fun getting dc'd by roc over and over and over and over and over. then getting killed by killer mangyangs at hotan over and over and over and over.
the stealth thing that's been popping up recently
oh, I remember they had to do a rollback because a group of guys spawned themselves gold on one of the servers, or at least that's what they said.
There's also a big rumor that the next ban will ban botters other than gold bots
.... yea ok
