This is what it has come to, I must leave SRO due to health issues and spiritual ones as well. To all the friends I made, thank you, it has been fun, to the enemies, well, it is only a game. SRF you have provided some good insight through the forums, thanks, to my guildmates, thank you, wish I could have let ya know another way.

Now, one thing that has come out of my SRF and SRO experience, I am researching on addiction and some say that there is a serious problem with addiction to things such as SRO and WOW. I dunno, but I am interested. I would like to ask you all to answer the poll and if you can provide your insight to the subject of gaming addiction. Now I dont know if there is any topic like this but, I would hope to have some serious input here and not some nibblets just ranting. This is also my post to say thank you all and goodbye SRO. I will be visiting SRF to read all the intersting and amusing post.

Thanks Again,

i quit about 2 months ago and am happy i did. its nice to have my life back and let go of that obligation to come one and play. all the items one would find in a day can take a lot of time to move between accounts even with 3 computers. i played for just over a year and had 5 lvl 70+ characters and 2 lvl 80 maxed charaters. i spent way too much money on this game and realized that there is no real goal or end to the game.

my adive to everyone is QUIT

MMORPG's are addicting yes...Silkroad would be more addicting if I could actually log in the first few tries..WOW is addicting my friend plays that game like 24/7..

Also when I do manage to log into silkroad I usually stay on for 3 hours depending what I am doing but I rarely can log in and find myself not playing for weeks at a time because it is soo frustrating..

Yes it can be addictive. I usually just play 3+ hours a day but now when I'm playing euro it tends to go 6-7 hours sometimes.

Really depends, on weekends I can play alot.(4-5hrs.)

But on the weekdays I can play usually 3 hours. But alot of that time I chatting to guildies and unionmates.

On the weekends I leave the game on all day though, it's not worth the effort to sign in and out with the traffic.

Knightress, you are making a very smart decision. I quit too for quite a while, in fact last September 2007. I hand grinded to 80, but real life obligations (spiritual, marriage, collge, etc) got in the way. Shoot, it's more like SRO got in the way of them. I don't mind sharing this, as long as it helps someone in addiction to SRO or any MMORPG. My marriage, school, and spiritual life suffered the most. Grades dropped, sometimes skipped church because of sro, and hell I even started to tell my wife to hand grind my character while I'm at school or work. DO NOT, and I repeat, DO NOT use this as a freaking reason to use bots though. It's all balance, and that's the key here. Anyways, I quit and I'm more happy. We'll come back though, but we agreed to limit ourselves when we do.

I quit, and we are a lot happier. In addition, I also quit because I simply couldn't compete with bots. Hand grinding to acquire sp was just too much to do by hand against the bots. So I gave up.

Well for fyi purposes, I did grind about 4-5 hours a day. Weekends a lot more. I know it's the rush of getting as high and powerful as fast as you can that makes this game addicting. Just make sure you have a lot of hot pockets and 2 liter pepsi's (screw Coke) IF you do. LOL jk. Oh yeah, another thing I ballooned to 260lbs, so don't let that shit happen to you. Fat bastard. Oh don't worry I went back down (190lbs). (^_^) Yes addiction has it's ugly side. Lol. My advice to addicts, real life obligations come first. Always.
