Since there are a few of us trying to be reasonable and keep the "debate" going on this server..and since SG said this thread should be in GD, I'm reposting the original. Not sure why it couldn't have been moved???

Selfish? Is that not man for you? If you were not playing SRO for yourself and your personal enjoyment, who are you playing for?

Silkroad has not one thing in common with the Nazi Reign, with handicaped people, with morals thos subjects are real life! SRO is a fantasy!

Addiction? Botters have an addiction? I am sure some may, BUT, what about the addiction and obsession of "Teh War On Bots" or who is legit and not legit? Is one addiction worse than the other? Sheesh RAL LIFE PEOPLE!

You fight over Botters, you waste a lot of energy here typing away and fighting and you accuse others of moral issues and addictions. WELL IF YOU ARE SO DAMN CONCERNED ABOUT MORALS AND ADDICTIONS... try spending your time writing your local reps and news reporters and governments and focus on some real life issues such as drug addiction hunger, homless, those that are really hurting and shit the hell up about boting once and for all!

The great kingdoms of the world all will fall, why? cus Big Brother wanted to much control, keep it up and SRF will fall also, people will get sick and tired of the constant Bot BS here and move on, including what legits are left.

Am I a bot lover? Do I Bot? Pfffff I know one thing, I am Legit in what I say. I am Legit in how I feel, Are You? Or are you just spouting off to hear yourself talk? or in this case type. Well I'll throw my 2 cent in. You are looking at botters because it's against the TOS. What about you guys walking around with full sun sets and weapons and you guys with level 80 euros that were powerleveld by a bot knowingly.
There is a huge bot hater I know that begs some people that we all know bot to p-lvl them, does that not make them just as guilty as the others? Buying gold, does that not give you an unfair advantage? It's funny how we go after one thing and never reply much to the others when asked about.

I cant keep replying to all topics to many topics and drama ever since this bannin botters from forum idea came up so ill just reply to the 1 on top atm. I like how people compare this game to real life. You say rules are rules sure there are rules people break them in game and in LIFE. u'r right about one thing, silkroad is a game. just like counterstrike is a game, just like starcraft is a game. now, is silkroad less of a game cuz it isn't televised, or it doesn't have as large a fanbase? that's for u to decide, but for my post here, they're the same.

counterstrike, possibly the most competitive and well known FPS game created. the backbone of cs is aim and strategies. of course, in pub games, aim generally outweighs strategy. what happens when u substitute ur human aim for a bot? u face shot every single person 99% of the time. people flame aimbots freely and mock them and admins ban them. in league matches, cheating is a huge no no.

starcraft, another widely popular RTS game. a good player needs good memorization, good reaction time, and good decision making. basically, u start off with peon units that u'll send to gather minerals to build additional buildings/units, u build an army and kill ur opponent. every starcraft game if played using "fog of war", meaning u have no idea, unless u scout, what ur opponent is doing. now if u hack, like use maphack or moneyhack, u'll be able to see what ur opponent is doing 100% of the time, and u'll have additional resources at ur disposal. once again cheaters are looked down upon, as it takes away a majority of the skill level needed.

it's funny that u see a parallel with those two games. the two fan bases don't look kindly on cheaters.

for silkroad, a "good" player needs a good amount of time, a generous amount of ingame gold, and many high level hook ups; time takes up a huge chunk of that, cuz wit time, u can get the other two pretty easily. what happens when one player cheats the system and uses a bot? he basically receives additional time for 0 the effort.

ingame, sro is ..... up. botters run rampant everywhere u go, with pockets of legits hanging around. however, on srf, the mods and admins decided to actually give a shit about it. they decided that they won't let botters run free, they're thinking "hey, legits started srf for legits, why should botters come in here and think they are immune?". botters hiding among legits are bad, but botters pretending to be legits are worse. u guys pretend botting is normal, that's it's part of the game. here's a shocker for u: it's not. bots are 3rd party programs that give an unfair advantage to the players that want to play for fun. u said it urself, it's a game, "leave people alone and enjoy." botters should leave the servers and let legits play how the game was meant to be played. alas, JM's incompetence forces us to fend for ourselves. srf is now taking that step towards an all, 100% legit community, and if that means losing a few friends along the way, then so be it.

u haven't said outright u'r pro-bot or just indifferent, we can only speculate. however, if u truly don't care who bots, then the least u can do is stay quiet and watch the proceedings like a good observer. ur rambling-ons contribute very little to the current ideals of this forum. to the extreme, if u feel u've lost touch with srf, then by all means leave.

Ok ill give an actual opinion here.

JM declared war on the bots, guess what happened. Not only did they lose HORRIBLY ing, but their forum is a gi-normous mad house of moron spammers.

The war that srf is declaring, appears to be leading to the same thing. A mad house spamtastic forum. I stopped going to the official forum, excpet maybe once every other week. Still the same thing.

HOEFULLY, the mods here can see and care enuff to cut it at the root. ON THE OTHER HAND, we have seen how much trouble banning 1 stubborn person has lead too. 1 person even lead to a news thread telling new comers to limit their posting to avoid senseless banning.

I don’t bot, I don’t encourage or advocate botting, but I do like a peacefull forum atmosphere with which to discuss sro. If this forum continues to head in the direction of the official, ill just go troll somewhere else. (not a threat, just making a statement.)

Same goes in game. Im not going to make my grind session a drama session. Im not gonna ban ppl from a gen. Party if they are bots. I don’t have time for that shit cause I HAND GRIND. Im lvl 40 working on lvling my dog to forty. Im so happy I hit lvl 40 ! My first charicter to hit lvl 40.

Anyway, im not going to let bots ruin my ingame experience, and im not going to let the 4 other people on this forum that DON’T bot ruin my out of game experience.

Oh please, I play Halo so I'll talk about that as it is CSS.
There are not a large number of botters, there's alot more people who don't aimbot in FPS games than the ones who cheat.
FPS games require skill. Silkroad really doesn't. All you need to do is press 12341234, big whoop.
I don't think there's any aimbot forum in FPS games, and if there is there aren't a large number of people who goes there. People don't say "bot on bot strong" in FPS games, they aren't proud of it like some people in SRO are.
Some botters in SRO think legits are like the people in the "make love not warcraft" episode of southpark, probably right for some people too, haha.

yes, see what happens when ppl do that. they end up with 20-30 legits facing 500 botters. the majority of legits don't actively search out for botters. they lvl. they only play around wit afk bots when they're done wit their lvling.

THey dont because when the community finds them, they get rid of them. Exactly what we are trying to do here.
