Don't know if this is old news or not, a guildmate posted it on our forums, thought I'd share it.

Blizzard v. In Game Dollar Update: Injunction Entered, Peons Not 4Hire in World of Warcraft Anymore
Blizzard’s lawsuit against virtual item and power-leveling company In Game Dollar (doing business as Peons4Hire) has settled, resulting in a permanent injunction (.pdf) that essentially shuts down In Game Dollar’s entire World of Warcraft operation. Though no monetary damages are specified, the injunction represents a complete victory for Blizzard. The news is likely to be well received by the World of Warcraft player community, which voiced widespread support for Blizzard’s move when the lawsuit was filed.

If only JM would grow the same sized balls.

Balls are not enough. Only big companies like EA or Blizzard have enough money to start war against gold sites. There was article somewhere...

JM Being such a small company compared to most Games, could not afford the trouble of this, and seeing how the Game is only beta, if they ever do release a Final version i could see this happening maybe.

Its not beta.

i think in order for the legal action to take place the companies have to be located in the same countries but i could be wrong

JM first need to have something to grow.

As far as i know, JM got 19mil last year

19 mil isnt a lot when ur running what now? 7-8 games? all bridning in that and the prob is only in isro which brings in the least ammount of income its not worth there time

Joymax could easily sue them, the problem is they wouldnt get any kind of profit off this. The WoW community has been pushing against gold botting/buying since day 1, and are still doing so. We as a Silkroad community.......seem to go the opposite way...

i think there is 19mil only from isro income, and i think ONLY from PayPal, i mean, money that was transferred throught paypal, by buying silk. Dunno about other games

how much money did joymax get in selling gold and bot cards

The problem is that Joymax likes this situation, they don't care about iSRO at all so why not make some crazy profit on it?

Player bots love the game, they buy gold from gold sites and bot cards, then they buy loads of sun and become capped and farmed. Then they can own almost anyone on their server, so they enjoy the game, and in order to enjoy it even more, they buy Premiums, bears, monkeys, devil wings, tablets and whatever they sell there, some botters buy up to 1000 silk per month, and seeing that they're about 1000 per server that makes some crazy profit for Gaymax.

Good Job for Blizzard, I hope Gaymax's gonna start doing this too.

But the reality is this:
SRO -> "f2p" = JM doesn't know how big is gonna be their profit on a fixed time period. (they have mouths to feed too lol)
WoW -> p2p = Blizzard knows exactly how much income they get on a fixed time period.

If Joymax were smart, they actually would sue the gold companies.

They use this as a precedent case, it's a guaranteed victory. More money for them at the end of the day.

i wonder what blizzards lawyers look like, Paladins rockin 6 tier gear pimped to the max?
