To the high lvl clerics

Post by BuddahBless »

Do you think you would have benefited from going a hybrid build. Offering is pretty strong and most of the time it's overkill if you're using it on someone your own level. Do you think it would have been better to go hybrid for some extra survivability? My cleric is 51 and I'm thinking about pumping str to 80. :/

I know of many hybrid clerics and they turn out quite nicely pvp and party wise.

No,

offering - high damage and alot of hp loss, but, with your other skills which are very limited, youd need all the damage you can do.

if euro had high level sun you could try hybrid in a sun set, but they dont, so it wont be as good.

lol, that is the stupidest thing you can do. please do not kill your cahr like that. if u pump it with str that char will be shit and useless. Euros were ment to party play with and yes u can pvp a chinese and 1 shot them, if u want a pvp char make a rouge , clerics are there for the buffs, and it is really hard to kill someone with offering because u need 95% health and that is really hard trust me and euros are slow if u dun got bard. ..> i have a lvl 80 cleric and lvl 80 warlock and a Rough lvl 35 sp farming so i know what i am saying. DO NOT RUIN ur cahr, it will be a USELESS char unless u want him only to buff GL.

no need to flame the guy he just had a legitamte question.
I'm a cleric, only 46 though so mid lvled, i'm not going to comprimised my dmg, but i'm going to get as much str and hp on my gear, because if you can't one hit me you can't kill me. But my super recovrery power might not be as perfect if i were hybrid, makes me wonder though, a few str points probally won't hurt you, but i'd just suggest getting it on your gear.

And yes there are high lvl euro stuns what are you talking about, rogues have stuns, warriors have stuns, warlocks have stuns, thats half the classes having stun. If you are warlock / cleric you can just get by pretty easily with stunning people, then offering. I've seen an str offering though it was so pathetic 400 dmg to a earth ghost, i think that number may even be lower i just remember it was something lame like that.

Ugh.. Clerics aren't supposed to deal any damage.
@ topicstarter: you'll need all magical attack power to maximize your healing ability.

I put 15-16 strength early on (I'm still level 46) and while I don't regret it, I am starting to come to the conclusion that when I PvP at a higher level, I will not be dealing as much damage as a pure int.

Depends on how long you plan on playing, I guess. You can always add int to your armor, etc. 10 points of STR isn't that much to put in, but I think it'll have a substantial effect on your damage output.

Im talking about PVP :), which im assuming the topic starter is, as only a crazy person would use offering in normal grinding.

Offering is great for using on champ party/giants :)

Grinding solo:
party heal->rec. division->offering->giant with a lot less hp

you need over 95% hp to even cast offering.

the more hp you have, the more str you put in. That means your heals are weaker, and thus it's hard to get yourself over 95% hp to cast the skill.

that is the one thing most people don't understand. Get it in your head.

Thus the reason for the occasional Bless and rec. division. Offering is not used very often, no. A cleric really isn't a damage dealer to begin with. I'll leave that to the wizards/nukers.

It's quite easy to stay full hp even with going hybrid. I personally use robes for the 20% heal boost faith passive which helps a lot. Also, more strength = more hp to spare instead of pure int which means an incy bit of damage would knock off the offering. Im sure pure offering kills pure int or hybrid int, as for soloing im pretty sure that you'll have a sub to do the damage. If not, then partying will replace soloing and the need for you to do any damage attacks.

I am a lvl80 full int wizard/cleric so i know it sucks to play full int cleric. Please do not give comment if you dont play a high lvl cleric.

First of all cleric are not meant for PVP or to deal damage. They cant kill shit beside using offering which takes 2min cooldown. In 1vs1, is either u offering him before he can attack u, else u have no chance to pull offering again. Because constant attacking make ur HP below 95%. You can only tank with bless spell after it, any stun, critical or a nuke will kill u.

If you main objective is to play support cleric go hybrid. You want to make a character that can tank a lot of damage. Because when doing job or war everyone will target cleric first. Go for 20~25 lvl worth of STR. You cannot go too much STR else u will out of MP easily.

Thrust me you will be impress when u see a cleric that can tank a lot of damage than the one doing high damage offering and get killed in 1 shot.

Yeah, because clerics job is to do damage..... right?

Hybrid clerics are reccomended, they are better then pure int clerics, really. I'd rather have someone who can heal my ass like their supposed to, then an egotistical cleric that runs up, and gets the whole party killed.

yeah all 80.

this is the blader btw.

The glaiver is 80, the kuwait's pure int is 80, the archer is 80 aswell, and that thief i fought, i guess he's 80 because of the damage he/she did on me.

whoever says clerics suck, they definitely havent learned how to play it.

edit: the stage 6 version, just in case you want it on high quality.

I'm off for the night.

Think about it...

You have bless, general heals, recovery division.. etc etc

you are enough of a tank as it is, why do you need more tanking power?

Add in warlock sub for stun, wizard for fear + tele or even warrior for shield trash and your set. I see no need for extra hp.

Anyone who thinks clerics are good at pvp should just stick to their chinese charactors.

to me clerics seem more of a fun char to pvp with than a serious pvp char. u run around in cape/job suit and hit off offerings randomly. it's nice to piss off ppl that u know could 1 shot u, but u took them down in a sec.

Do you guys think 15 mil gold would be enough to reset a lvl 51 cleric into a wizard? I'm so sick of this cleric it isn't funny. :p

Most of my attack skills are low/at 0. All the buffs are maxed though.
