Rant about Alchemy

Okay, so I apparently have the worst luck trying to improve the crit on my dual-axes. I got them as a drop and since they had okay stats, I thought I'd pimp them. the crit was 8 and I wanted to increase it a bit. and since then, I have failed about a bagillion times. it's currently stuck at Critical 2 +0% - and I tried last night about 6-7 times to get it to increase. Failed EVERY TIME!

Anyone else have this bad of luck on crit increases? I was able to put some blues on it and improve the phy attack rating and did a bunch of alchemy on some of my other gear. these axes just don't want to have a better crit apparently

probably crit and blocking ratio are the worst stats to do alchemy.

I've had my experiences also by doing that, it's very frustrating.
At the end is like a challenge to me, to at least fix it. So i just insist till i get a good number on the stat.

There is a theory that each item has a fixed 'luck stat'.
Some items are to be pimped out, some aren't
And tbh critical is a very hard thing to increase =/

u got it lucky i failed about 50 times trying to raise my rit from 1 to 5+ on my blade it went like this

haha yeah, it's amazing how it can get addictive! I failed the other day and it went from 8 to 2 and I was like OMG, NOW I GOTTA FIX THIS! and I ended up failing like 4 times. So, last night I tried, since I had the elements and some tabs and failed like 4 more times. Then, I said "Screw this!" and bought some tabs, failed like 2-3 more times GRRRRRRR!!!!!

Depending on your degree, make cheap ruby stones for your weapon and use those to try and assimilate the other stats ^_^

I would use certain useless stones that I got from destroying items at 8D on my equipment before really putting forth the expenses and effort to try and improve the item. One of the more recent successes was getting a shield to assimilate its block rate from 10 to 18 with a reinforcement stone.

I got some of the other stats to improve. When I failed the crit, it reduced the % on my phys attack to +0% so I got the stats on that improved as well as the % up to like 80% I think. I'll post screens tonight if I remember.

that's true. crit for daggers is insanely high. well, still, it's better than 2

I had a +4 lv 52 xbow, I thought: it needs STR
I added 1 stone: fail
The other stone gave me +5 str, I was kinda happy yeah.
So the other day, I thought, let's add Int, it can't hurt to have more int.
So I bought int stones, 4 failed. The last one (30% assimilation chance) succeeded, I checken my screen for any assimilations: my +5 Str went to +1

I just added 2 str stones, and now it's +3, but it was just so fckedup that it went to str1

Finally had some decent cash through all the trading/weekly pay and items I sold. Bought some strength stones, all 7 failed. I was rather upset

nice and if u plan to use these Axes till the 90 cap...pimp them to the MAX

it took me about 15 challenge stones to make my sword from 4 crit(0%) to 7.
and also when that happend, i got a freaking attribute assimilation which zeroed my mag attack.
so there's worth

spent like 30m , end up still at crit 2 LOL

spent 30 mil ish on my sos 64 blade to get 10 =.=

I haven't done alchemy much because I never got into the higher levels, but im not looking forward to it from what i hear -_-

Well maybe that only works with me but i always do my alchemy right after the inspection and it always work .. So you should try that also .

Unfortunately for me, "right after inspection" is about 2:30am or 3am on a weeknight. With work in the morning, there's no way I'm getting up to spend at least a half hour on alchemy

Lady Ame is right. If you got the money, keep on trying, or, try to get it up by assimilation via Int/Str, or Mag % (seems to work for me)

Yeah, that's my goal I think. I'm going to get as many blues as possible and hope for assimilation. I have some decent int/str on there now, but want to get that full. I'm grinding for stones and elements at the moment, so, yeah...I"ll try again soon

I had 72+5 12c glavie 100% blues 74% phy and mag decnt reinforce.. So i needed to change att rating % white. Used a 10% stone. I had 2c lolz. After tons of stones I let my brother try first stone back to 12..

Keep trying some 10% then maybe if u got someone u can trust get them to try few stones...GL to you mate..

hey Jack Seriously, quit trying to increase the critical!!! ask me, I tried to increase the critical on Ciddy's xBow and it never ever got higher... it was like 10 or 11, I used over 25 challenge stones, yes, t-w-e-n-t-y f-i-v-e stones!!!!! like 7 succeeded out of the bloody 25+ stones and oh well, alchemy was successful critical 4 > 4 0% I was like ROFL, till this moment, tho I quit Rome, my character is still broke... so quit it!!!!! lol... try to try on another dual axe...

my 72-77 prot set is almost perfect, just missing, 1str, 10% parry, and 150MP,

my jewels is another story, 3 str and pretty much all immunes
