In Need Of Some Advice, please take alook..

I’ve got a bit of a dilemma and need some advice... (Please bear with me and read through this I need some help

)
A few days ago I decided it was time for a change and created a euro bard/cleric and hand grinded it to 21 and worked up a 9 gap and thought if I can't beat power farmers and power levelers join um

...but
A couple of days ago I needed an item from guild storage and got someone to get it me and naturally joined the character into my guild and got asked by the gm who is my friend and I’ve known quite along time in game if I wanted power leveling a bit, I explained no thanks I’m going to power farm it at ongs for awhile and this is where my problem starts...
I've known him awhile and I trust him enough to lend him items and gold etc, but after I explained it too him and got the reply "do it at 30 instead and I can farm mine along with yours and we can take it in shifts" I thought great idea that'll help us both, but then I was told his euro is on the same account and now it gets worse...
His suggestion still stood but with the twist of using my main character and trusting him with my account info, well that naturally caught attention a little.
See I’m actually ok with allowing the use of the main character and handing him the password/id if I get screwed over for items it’ll be sad but the character will be safe, it's the whole idea of doing this now.
See in the beginning I was going to be doing it alone and at my own pace ,dependant upon no one but myself and now it's become complicated and a headache.
It gets complicated with time differences and available times to play and contacting the person who’s somewhat reluctant to give me an email or even use a forum I made for the guild, but it's not in my nature to turn down helping people and I’ve sort of agreed to doing this, at the same time I can back out but it's going to awkward and..
I’ve known the person long enough to notice certain ways he has and this relates to the guild I’m in.
See my guild is all but dead bar 4 people (including myself) and it would definitely put a taint on our friendship, I’ve a feeling he'd harbor resentment if I said no turned the idea down and just farmed my own character, But like I said I’m against the idea and in dire need of some advice on what you'd do in my position

I would personally say no. Unless you've managed to conatct him in some way outside of the game you can never be sure if he's who he says he is. Like that might have been a friend of your friend using his account. If he's a true friend, he'll understand that you're protective of your character.

I would simply say that you do not want to share your account information. If he is

cool

he'll understand.

Theres been some threads showing grim experiences and the consequences of trusting an in-game friend. It was enough for me not to trust anyone, and it should be for you. Its common sense-dont do it.

No!~ , don't do it man, i had a friend on oasis, who was friends since server open, we talked, we shared gold now and then, after he got to lvl 70, asked to borrow my GDF, wanted to try my blader for a bit, but didn't let him. so then he just sold his account on eBay (With my GDF)... so i guess, he was going to steal all my gold and stuff first... i known him for the longest time to...

Morale of the story: They can help you, give you money and be your best friend on the server....but they can always have a second face so never share your info

~Kurogane~
ill miss ya michaelzeng1...even if you tried to steal stuff (Hopefully he reads the forums)

then also u will be left plvling both the chars all the time
also lvl 30 is a very bad idea, pfarm at ongs he just wants u to go highier for his own benefit
also he is prolly reading this since its the most used sro forum

If you have doubts, and you're not 100% trustful of your friend, and you are not prepared to loose your account, then no. You have to be affirmative and protect your possessions. True friends would understand.

I know who to trust and who not to trust, and when to say "NO".
I have access to more than 10 accounts with characters level 60-80, and 2 friends have access to my account. I wouldn't neve choose pixelated items before a friendship.

I don't know if i'm in ur place i'll say yes, if what u say true then the hell.. I can give him the info of my acc, that's the biggest test u can give to a "friend". Ya I know I can be scam but the hell, at least I know who's my friends.

i would really give my info out to a few people i know online, cause i've given those same people sosun to give to another charector, wolves ect..., But still, its not really your work if you let some one else do it, and you'll feel less acomplished when you are high lvl with that charector if you take it that far. And there are people online i've been playign with for 2 years i wouldn't trust with some gear, though the people i played with for a long time, met in another game, i woudln't trust to that extreme used to not anyways, play on pacific and i dont' care if i get scammed there or what ever i only get on pacific but like once a month for fun. sorry if i rant still, it depends how much you really care.

Just do it.
If he has any decent moral fibers he will realize friendship is > a game.
I know the id and pass of a great mate in game. Sure i've stopped playing sro for now, but we had a similar power leveling agreement set up as well. I knew his mains account and his power leveled account. I never thought about abusing this trust either.
This is what friendship is. If you cant trust a friend with something like the account to a game, what can you trust them with?

In two years of gaming I have never given my account information to no one. You need to learn to read joymax's rules and policies, its strictly forbidden to trade accounts. Its at your own risk. You do it? then dont come here crying about it.

I said I’d noticed certain ways he has and you’ve high lighted one of them, as for him reading this I doubt it. I know it’s a popular site and I’ve even told him to use it for guides etc but he never did so I doubt he is now.
It seems 90% of people are against the idea and 10% are for it, this is what kind of hits it home for me though:
tedtwilliger wrote:This is what friendship is. If you cant trust a friend with something like the account to a game, what can you trust them with?
I’ve been in this game for at least a year and trustworthy friends are hard to come by/make, but as ted said this is what tests true friends ,so how are you to know till you try?
Having said that, personally I’m still against the idea though. I think I’m going to just turn it down and just leave it at that, If he takes it the wrong way then it’s safe to say giving out my info wasn’t going to be the smartest idea after all.
Appreciate your help guys

Well i would trust him but make an counter offer like He gives you 10M if you got 10M+ items on ure account so ure safe either way, On venus my Union Leader _ShiVa_ needed a bow so I lend him my lvl 72 +6 bow and he gave me 50M and 68+5 bow and other items but that way we could trust each other Try it I doubt he will scam you. Cuz I mean ive met CANADA on venus for 1 day and he lent me over 40M in an item(SOM+5 staff L32) So give him a change just take ure big valuables off ide suggest like SoX and most gold ect
Good luck =)

Well said, Shaolin.
I do agree with your sentiment
"This is what tests true friends, so how are you to know 'till you try?" I'm an old man though and couldn't resist trying to set things straight. What you described is a classic
"ONE WAY TRUST RELATIONSHIP" where your friend is not even willing to share email accounts. This game is about balance, so...

Even if he is your best online freind of all time I would never give my account information out to anyone. That is like being age 12 and walking up to a pedifile being completely naked and asking him to take you home, its just something you dont do ever, period.
