Here's a quick tut for banning(blocking) these guys since they're annoying.
real simple.

shift click the IIIIII loser.

now delete them from the back 1 by 1 checking if it's L or i.
The Way You Check

$IIIlll
delete
$IIIll
retype
$IIIllI asdf
oh~ it doesn't work
so try
$IIIlll asdf
yay~! it works

now delete two then three then four etc.


Tip: most of these guys have several Ls or is strung together.

You know you can only block 20 people...

I dunno why they didnt make it more. I mean instead of one annouying spam bot from a company now they have to put in 20+ to make sure you get it still. =[

Theres 2 block tabs.. One is Whisper which you can block only 20 people and the All tab that doesn't have a limit. ^_^

All chat is enough for blocks...as long as the freaking gold spammers are gone lol (in chat)

You'll have to buy extra block slots using silk

no, the best way is what i just did ^^

i wanted to fix this problem without messing with sro, and i did.

if you want to fix this problem, download this version of arial.ttf

backup your arial.ttf (drag and drop into a folder) from C:\Windows\fonts, then copy and paste this arial.ttf into C:\Windows\fonts.

reboot your computer, and afterward you should see that I and l look different in sro

what i did was yank the capital i from tahoma.ttf and stick it in arial.ttf.

now you can block annoying spammers named things such as IIIIlllll (and sro updates wont be able to mess with this edit)

why bother messing with sro or your pc

his way wont take that long...

thing is, if you do it by trial and error, if they decide to make adifferent one, this time 12 characters long, it takes a while.

if you use a font file that has a different I and l then you can just see it and type it.

Why are people bothered by the default SRO font? So long as I can read it, it's perfect.

cuz I and l are identical, wasnt a problem at all till now, when you want to block someone, and they just name their char IIllllIIlIllI and you have to spend 5 minutes guessing it.

*shrug* I just uploaded the .dat file that contains MY block list with all the names figured out already and posted it on SRA for everyone to just DL and drop in their settings folder.

THAT is even easier.

You said it your slef YOUR list not all servers have the same spammers names.

no they didnt. they said they would, but they didnt.

and im glad they didnt cuz the way they were doin it was pretty damn ugly lookin.

or you just hexedit the medie.pk file. just change where it says "english" to"korean." voila the new fonts show u the difference between all letters, and also u get to see underwear as a bonus.

Wish they had done it the same way you add someone to the friends list, either by writing their name or, shift + clicking on them will automatically fill in the "Add Friends" box with the persons name.

lol editing the fonts isnt hard to do, its easier than guessing all the different name forms...

downloading that new arial.ttf someone posted here helped my case
