i choose bard for its awesome speed and unlimited mp, wizzard and bard are just meant for each other, don't forget noise makes your survivability go way up
cleric, has bless res and some of the other stuff, you could switch fast enough to heal yourself maybe,
they both have their upsides, but ya for grinding bard is better, for pvp and giant fights cleric is better once you get bless, because you can tank out something in the time you'll kill it, but bless doesn't mean immortal though

A man once said, "Fear is contagious". So then the same must hold true for courage.
The Roar of a Crowd begins with one man.

I would say:
Go with wizard/bard till about level 25 or 30, then switch to wizard/cleric.
Go with wizard/bard for, at the very least, the speed buff(you can also get Noise, as it will help to keep you alive.)
Go with wizard/cleric for the bless spell, resurrect, and healing. You can also get the phy. def. and mag. def. buffs, since they will stay on the character(not including yourself) when you take off the cleric rod. Such a build makes you very versatile, since you can fill in pretty well for a main cleric if there isn't one or they are dead.

Are you talking about Soul and Body Blessing? A friend told me they disappear when you remove your cleric rod...
Damn. Can someone confirm this? @_@

yes they do but you have 3 other skills that are very useful that dont, and what does bard have, speed and noise.

You won't be able to get past lvl70 without a share party if you get cleric subclass...
Edit: actually you wont be able to survive most white takla mobs like that.
