any bonus hp you get from being a hybrid is halved if you use life control anyway, and if you don't people can start to tank your nukes which will be really sad for a wizard..

I have a lvl 78 wizard hybrid with 90% mag balance, I made sure that all of my items have int5 on them and now im at 106% mag balance and I hit hard as hell, I still hit a lvl 80 str glavier with normal gear (not sun) for 18-20k, and thats with lvl 76 skills I still have the lvl 78 life turn over, anouther 4% mag damage increase, and lvl 80 skills to come. for a sun blader or glavier it still takes a pure int wizard 2 hits to kill a sun str character and thats what it takes me, but at least when i hit them the first time and then they do a flying dragon or something on me i dont die in 1 hit.

last night I proved my point to quite a few other thiefs on my server, I found a 5 star trader with a lvl 80 sun glavier, i went invisible and 2 hit him, he used 8 reverse return scrolls and summoned mercs and I just kept killing him since a wizard has a long cast distance which is longer then the mercs, and YES he was quick enough to pick me out when I did the first him and I SURVIVED his hits since I had the little extra str.

my question is why hit someone for 25k when it only takes 22k to kill them.

It's not like wizards need to be full int to one-hit people of their levels but yeah... You'll probably more interested in being full int. Str can be sometimes useful but usually not enought. Hear the words of the experient hybrid wizard that just posted, then make up your mind.

Anyone who says pure Int clearly has never played a wizard to any sort of decent level in the game. Go hybrid #1 Because I don't enjoy dieing in one hit, like you're almost guaranteed to if you're pure, and #2 Clerics should not be pure, they need the extra HP when pt grinding.

I wouldn't however suggest a hybrid build by point ratio; instead i would say to try to keep anywhere from a 85-90% mag balance.

a good cleric goes pure int and never dies.
you have those defense buffs for a reason, and that crazy light armor defense passive.

i dont see how you're supposed to kill clerics, they just heal themselves and then bind you and follow up with offering.

You do realize that the hp you get from that...I would assume 22 str (exactly what you will be left over if you are just hitting 90% magic ballance) is about 525 (1050 without it) when you are using life turnover. The reason why you killed the guy so many times is because you are a wizard, not because he didn't kill you in 1 hit. 500 hp is next to nothing. If you had made sure you have 5 str on everything, you would have the same balance anyway.

Why is pure better? Because you want to 1 hit since you can't afford to let some1 hit you 2-3 times. 500hp and no other gain seems almost silly to waste str on it.

Pure is the best way to go simply because adding str won't help you in physical dmg like it does for the chinese, and even with 500 more hp, it's the difference between an ok hit and a good hit. For example, on a good hit, a sun glavie doing the spear throw hits me for 9k, on a bad hit, he hits me for 7k. That's 2k difference.
