Just about one year ago, I remember my highest level ever being lvl 38. I was so happy, I felt so kick ass. I considered myself someone important, with skill, who could grind hard and play hard. I remember seeing lvl 40 and 50 gear, thinking that was the coolest thing ever. I remember seeing lvl 60 and 70 people, thinking they were gods. and I remember when 80 cap came out, worshiping high levels 72+ and begging for a tour to Takla, so I could watch and marvel at their skills. I remember when the red Chinese garment set for lvl 40+ was the one thing I would do ANYTHING to have.

I also remember when legits would murder bots in every way possible, and when drama and pvp made the servers fun- no matter what your level. I remember when hunting uniques was great, I remember when large pvp events and job events would dominate 2+ hours of my day. I remember loving this game, thinking one day I would be at the top.

Now I am lvl 79 and I think of anyone under lvl 72 ( cause of gear ) to be an annoying little pest/subhuman/bug that doesn't even deserve to be nuked by me, rather I'd shout them or slowly kd and stab them over and over with ice imbue during pvp or jobs. I absolutely despise takla, and I look down on almost every lower level player- while they always ask me for p leveling, jobbing help, and yes- 10k gold. I think I am so bad ass in everything, I think I've become a bit of a jerk xD

I've changed so much, for better and much for worse as my bitterness has grown over my adventures on SRO. I could thank the higher levels for teaching me lessons of "where I belonged" so many times, molding me into who I am as a player. From a lvl 38 nuker who thought a few mil was bad ass, I can now proudly say I am about to hit the cap.

Anyone else have a story to share on their "adventures" of sro? For me, it's been a path from clueless newbie to an almost sadistic, twisted, god-complex player. How about you?

PS: Anyone who hasn't become more bitter obviously has never tried to play in an area with 40+ gold bots before.

My friend recently went to WoW, leaving his L79 account to myself and another of his friends to share. Myself and his other friend both got 2 PCs, so we use him to plvl (or, in my case pfarm) our characters when we arent in the mood for grinding. Thing is, he left it with no cash, so if we are gonna lvl ourselves, we gotta pay for pots. Earlier, i took it to the ongs to farm a new rogue. obviiously, no money or drops drop, like if i level it with my 52 char. So no gold and half a set of pots (200 ish).

I coulda logged it off and left an evil surprise for the other friend, but instead i went jobbing with it to earn it back. Its amazing how you can join a party with a 79 char and get rejected with the 52. I regularly hunt (as a scout) for my L80 friends, and shout down TS or CAPS LOCK TYPE THAT THAT SUN +9 THIEF IS COMING!!!1111!!!!

You try to join with a 52, reject reject reject, sometimes i know their char name, so i ask why "you too low" would be a valid response. but no, its always always always "nooob. noooooooob nooooob" so i join with the 79. "hi, come help us help help"

bastards. if i didnt need the money, or my hunting mates werent offline, id so set my thief friends on them.

If i make high level, im gonna be nice. Reserves right to edit post if he turns out to be a wanker

im the same way. im one of the slowest lvl'ers in sro i think lol. 1 year of playing and im lvl 57 almost 58. i DO think i will hit the cap one day (legitly of course) and wen i do ill be helping my guild and having fun. i dont really care if your lvl is high or low, just as long as your nice

back when i was at lvl 14 for a week

back when i didnt kno what stat points were till lvl 13
then when i added one (not looking at the numbers) i thought it hurt me XD
and didnt add anymore till 16!

i got to 38 on that char too
killing bunwangs.. nuke shout throw combo combo XD

i remember when i first saw the lvl 51 chains
and how i thought i'd never get them...

haha and yea.. those pimp garms at lvl 47

then when i toured with my friends in takla
with reindeer..

good times

sometimes i plvl some noobs for free
just to be nice
then maybe hunt later on

but then they keep pming me
asking for plvl every 2 hours..

you're not getting bitter
the times hav just changed

tho some ppl still try murdering bots ^^
i slaughtered 5 gold bots at penons with a pt giant
and TheT lured a Niya General to muijis
and pwnd

I must say my story would be somewhat similar to yours andrejat and I agree things were much better when I first started out. I remember thinking I was the richest when I was able to make a full 3rd degree sos pro set with my sos 16 blade/shield, which i ended up selling before the wolf update to buy myself a wolf + a lvl 24 sos blade. I remember thinking I was the coolest when I finally hit lvl 29 and had my 4th degree garms with my sos blade. Just overall things seemed much more fun at those levels since there was plenty of wars and pvp going on as well as the big trades that I use to be apart of.

Now it just seems like all the fun that use to be is replaced by drama on who's "the best" and how someone is much better than someone else because they decide to cheat the most and are so proud to boast how much they cheat. That and now the game seems to be lacking alot of the fun that use to have and alot of the charm the game had when things were new. I think that's why I decided to reinstall diablo 2 a week ago...

I loved Diablo2 soo much Never hit 99, but got close.

mine was similar, i think im a little weird because the music in sro brings bak good memories of being a nooblet again lol, when i was lvl 3 Xradied on tibet took me in and gave me 100k, showed me everythiing, and when he 1 hit giant tigets i thought it was amazing.... the 1st time i saw d5 armor i thought it was godly, i pretty much praised d7-d8. i try to find noobs like i was, and give them the same experance i had.... im always gonna be playing silkroad

Here is my story in Red sea (yes, where moses divide apart to allow the Israelites to live)

I came across this game, when my friend introduce it to me back then.

Then here comes the leveling and kill like im so fascinated with omg yeoha just pawn me xD and die on turtles lol i was crazy. Then, i saw a high level player with a green deviloom garments that FTW my heart to grind 48hours and lose 10 pounds. Then i met my first tiger giant, its was like "omg how the hell, where to hit, ok i go here you're there and yes we kill him!!! we kill him!!!" Then i hit 30, str hybrid blade, and stop playing coz i was pawn by a nuke, while trading 5star, the guy said that "what a weak" and i got pissed off.

Then, i build my bow int, started to nuke and bow at the same time, sp farm till 10k then left and looking for the guy. Then at 40s of that int bow i found out that guy was in one union with me. Then, i started to quarrel because he bot. Then my guild "Roseriance" reach lvl 4. After that, i manage to tag with kyle to reach 40+. Then, we have been accused of botting, then reach lvl 48 and give up the acc to another player.

I restart with a int hybrid swordsmen, because they pawn in pvp, then i leveled till 48 and stop again, union was a friendly, vent talking, positive people, who is being realistic. We realize that our union is a superb, I keep myself as guild leader, and in the end, i quit due to college, and remove everyone from guild and keep it on my another character.

1 1/2 years later...
Then the character, euro, was a wiz, full int and keep dying so give up the character, leaving it on red sea.

Then suddenly venus came out, just wanna try some axe character, then i found a dagger, so i started to use dagger. Then at town, i met people talking out loud, who donate for guild then i joined Avalon, for 15k donation.

Then i realize that Fly and nightbloom is there, so does the others who promise to play there, then started by full str dagger, at venus. Now fortress is coming, avalon gonna owned wewillrockyou and 1337 bot guild and rule the server.
