Anyone wanna give me some tips on playing as a thief? Also any video recommendations? It'd be nice if it was one of a rogue also. I've seen 1 or 2 good ones already but they Chinese.

be a rogue or a wizard. Use invisibility -> firetrap outside of samrkand gate -> wait for an innocent boob to stumble across it.

what lvl are you? thieves will not be effective until at least 60 when lvl 30s and lvl 40s start trading
you also need a ton of patience because you will be running around the map and camping at bridges, etc. Thieving will take a lot of time
also remember that after you pick up some guys loot, you'll have to fight your way to the theif town but it shouldn't be a big problem (if you bagged loot, most likely you have theif friends to support you)

He's playing on Venus, so level isn't a problem.
The main thing I can recommend for thieving as a Euro, is to party up. Take Bandit Scrolls and convoys with you anytime you're in suit. ('tis what I do)

Other than that, remember that there is strength in numbers.
And have fun.

Aircraft Dock.. most of the traders[Samarkand-Hotan] pass thru that dock.

Not true.
Start when you like, help higher lvls locate trade runs, share the profit when in thief town.
Everyone knows my thief name in xian, but soon i will semi-retire then i may give away my best strategies etc.
As for advice you can take away.... learn who the most active thieves are on your server. Write down thier ign.... when you see trades leaving the cities or even passing through your grinding area, PM them.... they will be thankful.
I personally have several people that randomly pm me.... some are high lvl some are low... but if they ever want a share of the profit or experince, they get it.
I often have traders and hunters ask me 'how did you know we were here'... the simple answer is that lvl 35 noob you past 1 min ago told me.
Obviously as a high lvl thief the best information comes from other thief friends and your own guild/union.
The worst thing that you can do as a thief is to screw your own party members... never do this... so many noobs think they can get away with leaving the party after the goods have been picked up by thier transport... or when back at the thief den. Yes, you will get the loots to yourself on that occasion, but if you do that in my party i either tell a hunter friend where you are, kill you myself... or the worst thing, ban you from any thief party i have in the future. This is not good because all the top thieves know each other and therefore trying to get in a thief party at anytime will be difficult for you.
Above all tho... dont leave any Survivors, always help your party dont leave them to hunters on thier own... and most of all have fun!

^Didn't bother reading past the 2nd line. There's no fun in grabbing the goods for the higher lvls and go off and hide.

Be a rouge, put a trace on a trader, stay stealth, jump him at the samarkand bridges with dagger desperate + prick. Or kill his hunter first then him. Once you have the load you have a VERY limited amount of time to move away from the area that jacked them at. I suggest moving in a path not commonly traveled (depends on your server).
Always strength in numbers as thieves and remember isolation of hunters both initially and on return trips is of paramount importance. One hunter vs 3 thieves is a loosing situation for him, so don't let them get organized.
All your thieves should start their return scrolls at the same time, if one of the loads is dropped, all should cancel, progressive warping leads to weekend numbers for the remaining goods.

well alls I have to say is thiefing is not what it used to be, before the euro update it was fun and traders were everywhere using the 1 star protection even lvl 80's but you could always pop most of them.

Yup.
Not sure of the actual percentage, but it's like 0.15%
