the first sos drop is the hardest?
does anyone feel this way, i have a lvl 7x char with no sos. and a low level alt with plently of sos.
for the alt, once i started getting sos, i kept on getting them, one every 2-3 days...

Because the drop rates at lower levels are higher
The higher level you get, the less your chances of getting any item
And by having a decreased chance at finding an item = less chance of finding sos
And that probably explains it.

my first sos drop was a lvl 52 spear so i would say it is

Its luck!
My level 43 guy has had 3 sos drops... first one was level 5 and i got a level 1 sos staff!!

took me forever to get my sos drop but now i get them more than once a week

I'm a newbie relatively speaking(lvl 2x ~ 2 months gaming@SRO) and I've been lucky enough to find 2 SOS items in the span of like 3 days.
Granted, in both cases the items were ok, but nothing mind blowing. One was a garment I couldn't use, so I sold it and bought me a nicer SOS crown. And the other was a decent set of Scale Armor +1 w/ some blues, which I also sold to pad my bank account.
Does seem very random and if it's any consolation to you, most of my other drops haven't been much to brag about. Maybe 1 or 2 usable items out of the lot. Go figure
Anyway, good hunting I'm sure you'll run across something good before too much longer.
