Hello. This is Silkroad Online.

Recently, many players have got nervous regarding stolen account problem.

However, there are absolutely no problems with JOYMAX.COM's account system.

We strongly recommend our users to change their password again who are anxious about their account.

Some harmful sites have spread rumors about stolen account problem but those sites rather threaten your computer's security.

Therefore, to tighten up your computer's security, please restrict yourself from visiting those harmful sites, and run an anti-virus program at least once a week.

Thank you.

Great work...denying that they have a problem with their accoutn system and shifting the blame to us users for visiting "harmful" sites..

all i can say is.... GG

It has nothing to do with whether you knew how to hack or not. If someone targeted you and got your id, you would've been hacked.

DJ how'd you get back into your account if 'hacking' it using this method would've required the hacker to change your password to begin with?
I mean the password should've been different, and you told us you got back on the account before 'step 2' had been revealed. You must be a smart guy.

I'm so glad I managed to use that non-existing security hole to take back the account that was stolen in January, and that I haven't been able to access since. Good work Joymax! :P

suicide was keylogged, and the guy who hacked it couldnt change the pw.
darkjackals..dno, seems kinda meh cuz he just hopped on the account as if he was keylogged too.

Actually, you didn't need step 2 if you had enough information about your own account. You could just change the settings with your secret question after performing step 1. As said: I got my account back that was hacked in January of this year, and that I hadn't been able to access for almost 11 months now.

Forgive me for my ignorance. I don't come visit here often and can't read every single thread or post. Where can I find how they were hacking or whatever about it? Not that i want to hack anyone. I just don't even know if i should go visit their official website and portal site for like payment, reading new, notice etc. So a little more info about that thing would help me I guess.

and dont forget, you can get hacked by visiting a stall, receiving a pm, killing mobs..idiot, there is NO way to get hacked from exchange or whatever.

@MrFudge

The hacker, that got his char, jus cleared it, wasnt able to change password. So jackal didnt needed to do step2? my mistake if i misunderstood something.

lol you think I lied to get items and stuff? No one has given me anything any time I have been hacked except night gave me 20m last time, and some guild mates gave me elixirs and various things, then d2a let me use a bow. And let me tell you starting a lv 70+ character with no gear a weapon and 20m isn't easy but I have done it and now near 80, I don't really appreciate somoene who doesn't know me thinking i'm out for items. Ppl from here have offered me stuff, even an account with a mid lvl, I say thx to those who wanna help me, it's great and i'm glad there are some nice ppl like that but I don't need stuff from anyone and i'm not lookin for it, you won't find anyone in srf or Xian who has given me a thing.

I simply changed my info back with my email verifications.

Don't be so ignorant, a few days ago most people thought there was no way to take over an account with the use of an account name. Jst because it has not been publicized or is not widely used, it doesnt mean it doesnt exist.

Just to summarise it for you, there was an exploit on the joymax.com website where someone who had your username could steal your account. That was all s/he needed, your username. You wont be able to see the details of the hack anymore, nor would you be able to carry them out as the exploit has been fixed.

Actually, changing the password of the Joymax Portal account was part 1 of the security flaw, and I'm sure he like me knew his own account username. :)

This bug is a oldy, prolly 2-3 weeks old ppl knew about it, jus not everyone. I reported it to jm ago few weeks, and they didnt do shit. There is no way to get hacked by getting invited to a pt or some shit, cuz you are not sending your id/password to someone if you join his pt >_>

Nah bro, I have known Sui and DJ for a long time. There are not many people on sro I would call unselfish, but these two guys are unselfish.

These are two guys that started sro in the trial stages, when after that the servers got wiped and everyone had to start again. Sui recently hit 80, DJ I think is 78, now think about this, when you look at the server list you see 20+ servers, these characters have been around since Xian was the only server. And characters on servers that have just been released are already lvl 80. I have been in both guild's TE and BH and I have never seen either ask for money or ask for anything at all.

Yeah, that was kinda my reaction too. I had to scoop my jaw off the floor.

As for the rest of this thread.... Most of you are shitheads who cant see the forest for the trees.

Anyone who can read can figure out how DJ might have gotten his account secured.
